Navy Times: Expect the smallest pay raise in 13 years.
Still, somehow, 75% of the military votes repug. It boggles the imagination.

1. "We've got ours. So shut up and sit down." - BushCo Republicon Cronies
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 07:41 AM by SpiralHawk
republicons milking the system for massive oil and munitions profits, and stiffing the grunts and the swabbies.

"Mission accomplished - we're filthy rich and you are totally screwed." - Commander AWOL Bush

You can have full republicon confidence in the "leadership" of Dick "Five Deferments" Cheney

15. Ooooh! Ahhhh! A new costume for the Chimp-in-Chief!
I'm impressed! NOT! But Mr. Bu$h is obviously impressed. With himself. When Bu$h plays dress-up, everybody smiles. What an egocentric, vapid little shit. Look at him! There is a war going on, for Chrissake!

However, the military is catching on to Bu$h's game. The info is getting out. Bankruptcies among military personnel are sky-rocketing, especially with Nation Guard troops on long deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Scandalous cronyism, where criminally inept GOP-linked contractors make millions at the expense of the troops' lives, limbs, and economic well-being, are revealed almost daily. Absolutely no sacrifice is asked of the nation as a whole, but a few good men and women are required to waste away their youth - and often their blood and/or their lives - in the shit-sucking hell-hole that Bu$h has made in Iraq.

For sure, there are cadres of ass-licking, ticket-punching lifers, looking for another stripe or an oak-leaf for the collar, getting fat and assaulting nothing but their livers in Baghdad's Green Zone: Cool and comfortable; safe and serene. Every war has them. There are also, somewhere, some decent officers of flag rank who will at some point wave the bullshit flag in Mr. Bu$h's face. And then they will rub his face in the fetid sewer that is his mark on the world. They will do the job that Congress has totally failed to do. Unless a new Congress, a Democratic Congress, stands up to its responsibilities, post haste.

Let's just hope it happens sooner than later. Before Bu$h invades Iran and Syria. Before those good military leaders have no choice but to save this country with tanks on Pennsylvania Avenue.

5. I have no cite for the figures, but
Anecdotal evidence from talking with shipmates make me that that it's true. Which of course, is stupid. Almost everything good in the Navy (largest pay raise, education initiatives, minorities as officers, Rickover fired, et al) has been the result of Democratic initiatives.

7. The fact that the 04 election results for the military were never
released (as far as I know) is telling. I tried to find them but to no avail. I'm thinking there's a large percentage of soldiers who didn't vote for these warmongers, and am angry that their vote counts for so little, if anything.

10. Agree with all
except the largest pay raise. That was under Nixon (E-1's ans E-2's pay increased 100%, my pay as
E-3 went up 83% and if memory serves the second largest pay raise was in
2002 or 2003

9. To our patriotic troops in the Navy: AWOL gave your raise to the rich
a long time ago. No taxes, no money. Sorry! Oh yeah, please keep putting yourselves in harms way to protect our AWOL president's financial interests.

Have a great day!

where did you get that 75%? DI would

13. The Navy Times did a survey just after the last elections...
...75% of those polled said they voted Bush. I'm sorry I don't have the link to include with the article.
