US copters intrude into N. Waziristan
Miramshah: As many as six US helicopters reportedly violated Pakistan’s air space over North Waziristan Agency on Tuesday, after some unidentified militants attacked allied forces in Pipali area of Afghanistan situated close to Afghan-Pak border.

The helicopters hovered in the air space over Lawara Mandi area of the North Waziristan Agency, reported the Dawn.

Quoting eyewitnesses, the paper said that the US helicopter gunships violated Pakistan’s air space more than six times in the area, but did not take action.

Pakistani security forces did not react against helicopters, they added.

7. Waziristan is now a de fact independent state, ruled
by the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

As a formal matter, it lies in Pakistan. But it's about as part of Pakistan as China is of the United States.

6. Hot pursuit after combatants ...
routinely crosses borders, with few repercussions.

Presumably the country they're fleeing into wouldn't want them, and would approve (tacitly).

If the country they're fleeing into does want them, then the borders are likely to be violated in a more egregious way in the near future.
