Clinton sees new Mideast peace plan in two months
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton believes a new initiative to bring peace to the Middle East could emerge in the next two months. In an interview with the Financial Times, published on Wednesday, Clinton said unrest in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon had set the scene for "some kind of positive movement to take place".

Clinton told the British newspaper: "All these bad news stories have created a sense that if we don't want further disintegration to occur then we had better come up with a strategy that goes forward in creating a new sense of order that enables everybody to live together."I'm not sure you won't see some positive things come out of the Middle East in the next 60 days."

He said it was time to work out how to end the bloodshed, warning that otherwise the world was left with three choices.

"We can say: 'We know who our adversaries are and we can accelerate the confrontation, or we can kick the can down the road and hope the underlying realities change, or we can try to rearrange the pieces and players and try to put a puzzle together'.

1. here's what i see

"Speaking of arms, Ray McGovern announced at the session the electrifying, if not wholly unexpected news that Naval officers had notified his organization of former intelligence officers about secret orders that had gone out for a Naval battle group to set sail immediately for the Persian Gulf, with a planned ETA off the coast of Iran of Oct. 21--less than three weeks before Election Day. (McGovern, before he resigned in disgust during the Bush first term of office, had been in charge of threat assessment at the CIA.)

"It would appear," one well-connected Washington source informed me after hearing about the Naval maneuvers, "that the Bush administration's internal polling is telling them that they are in serious trouble in November and that they are getting desperate."

This is bad, very bad, and it's beyond time for the repuke Congress to get off their asses and start joining McCain and Co. and the Dems.

:wtf:

We'd better impeach the chimp before the naval battle group can get there.

3. I see this as a positive. Cooler heads are intervening.

"It seems to me the latter course is the best ... It wouldn't surprise me to see some fairly interesting things come out."

5. A Preemptive Peace Mission Plan..
President Clinton needs to get full media coverage on his ME Peace Resolution
before this desperate, maniacal, crack-pot, government we have leading this country
is allowed another *mistake* that becomes a threat to every US citizen here and abroad.

more from the linked article:

"If Bush and his gang cannot get all their crimes retroactively approved by the current compliant Republican Congress, he and Cheney, fearing impeachment and war crimes prosecution, may have decided to go with a "Hail Mary" strategy--an aerial bombardment of Iran's nuclear facilities just before Election Day designed to rally Americans once more around the already abased and abused Flag."

"The potential for an attack on Iran to become a new Tet is probably as great or greater than the likelihood of its rallying the public around an already widely discredited president and war."

"We have only seven weeks to act to stop this from happening."

10. First they'll take out Congress and call it a terrorist attack from Iran
and then they'll go after Iran. Two birds, one stone.

Actually I don't believe this, but then I've been in perpetual disbelief at what these criminals will do.

11. I can only hope..
when they decide to implement their diabolical plans, a true Patriot,
someone from the Secret Service or the CiA, steps forward and exposes
their plans before they can harm more people. Even if for the time being,
the insane are put under house arrest until formal charges can be brought
and Impeachment proceedings instituted.

Please, make it so...

12. I agree....
This has gone on long enough. Americans need to step up and let their voices be heard. That will happen come November.

13. Will the new peace plan include this?
Gamal Mubarak, the son of Egypt’s president, proposed Tuesday that his country pursue nuclear energy, drawing strong applause from the nation’s political elite, while raising expectations that Mr. Mubarak is being positioned to replace his father as president.
