Intruder Causes Lockdown at Capitol

WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 — A man crashed his vehicle into a security barricade near the United States Capitol this morning, ran into the building and was arrested, authorities said.

Capitol Police briefly shut the building and instructed staff members of lawmakers to remain in their offices. The incident occurred at about 8 a.m., and the building was reopened about an hour later.
