Man crashes through barricade at Capitol
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060918/ap_on_go_co/capitol_arrest

"A man crashed his vehicle into a security barricade at the U.S. Capitol on Monday and was arrested, authorities said.

Construction workers said the man had driven through a barricade at the Capitol, where a major visitors' center is under construction.

Police put the Capitol complex under a lockdown as the investigation of the incident progressed. The incident happened shortly before 8 a.m., witnesses said.

Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokesman for the Capitol Police, said police were examining the man's vehicle."

1. Maybe it was a Republican trying to get out before the purge.

2. Perhaps it is the first wave of our people waking up and starting
to overrun the government.

On second thought, naw, that is never going to happen.

10. Not holding MY breath....
the good a'murikkkans have never been more
submissive.
As long as they are allowed to shop at the mall, watch
their favorite TV show and drown in credit card debt,
they will not resist.

my daughter's class going to the Capital. They're supposed to go right before elections. Maybe they're afraid the Repub they're going to see won't be in office after elections. Unfortunately, it's a 'required' trip for Soc. Studies. It's not so much the car, as the lockdown itself.

I'm torn as to whether to let her go or not. I don't think I'm overprotective, I just think DC is not the place to be if you don't have to be there. I think I'll send this story link to her teacher.

5. Visiting Republican congressmen is dangerous for children's
mental health.

Cancel the trip until the Republic is restored.

6. Most of Congress won't be in DC just before the election
I believe they're breaking in a few weeks until after the election. I'd double check that anyone they expect to see won't be in his or her home district at the time of their visit.

8. Oh, please let her go
The Capitol building is well protected. The Capitol Police will be there. People are screened before being allowed in the building. The beautiful Capitol and Statuary Hall are places every American should see. Such a wonderful experience for a young person.
