U.S. soldier missing in Iraq after blast
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. soldier was missing Friday, a day after a suicide truck bombing killed two soldiers and wounded another 30 west of Baghdad, U.S. military officials said.

The soldier "has been reported as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown," the military said, without elaborating.

Neither U.S. military officials in Iraq nor in Washington would say whether they believed the soldier had been abducted or whether he may have been killed in the attack, and his remains had not been recovered.

"I'm sorry to add that we now have a soldier that we are counting as missing," Lt. Gen. Peter Chiarelli said in a video news conference from Baghdad with reporters at the Pentagon.

Soldier reported missing after suicide bombing

One soldier is listed as missing following Thursday’s suicide truck bomb attack west of Baghdad that killed two soldiers and wounded 30 others, the Army reported today.

“A Multi-National Division–Baghdad soldier has been reported as duty status whereabouts unknown,” said a news release from Multi-National Corps– Iraq, the headquarters for all ground troops in Iraq.

The Army also increased the initial number of those reported injured to 30, noting that of those one is listed as very seriously injured, one seriously injured, 17 not seriously injured and 11 returned to duty.

One soldier was killed at the scene of the Thursday attack, and the second soldier died of his wounds at the 10th Combat Support Hospital inside the Green Zone, a hospital spokesman told CNN.

6. Yes.
As you head west and cross the Baghdad boundary, my handy dandy little map tells me, you enter Anbar. First up, maybe 6 miles past the Baghdad border, is Fallujah.
