Iran secretly revived program to enrich uranium using laser technology: opposition figure

NEW YORK – Iran has secretly revived a program to enrich uranium using laser technology, reportedly with favorable results, an Iranian opposition figure said Thursday citing information from members of the resistance inside the country.

Alireza Jafarzadeh said information about the laser enrichment program at Lashkar Ab'ad, about 15 miles northwest of Tehran, came from the same sources that led to his revelation in May 2003 that Iran had a clandestine nuclear program.

There was no independent confirmation of the latest information and Iran's U.N. Mission called the allegation “baseless and unfounded.”

Jafarzadeh, who heads the Washington-based Strategic Policy Consulting think tank, is credited with having aired Iranian military secrets in the past. But U.S. officials considered some of his past assertions inaccurate.

2. So? As long as WE have nuclear weapons, we have no right to tell
anyone else that they can't.

We want to have the moral high ground? Get rid of our own nukes.

I don't think you can expect many of us to believe this pile of neocon rubbish, do you? Not again?

which should be the first step. The second step is for all nations to disarm themselves of weapons of mass destruction.

Edited to add a very important "o" in good.

9. AEA: U.S. report on Iran's nuclear plan 'outrageous and dishonest'
"VIENNA - UN inspectors have protested to the U.S. government and a Congressional committee about a report on Iran's nuclear work, calling parts of it "outrageous and dishonest," according to a letter obtained by Reuters.

The letter said the errors suggested Iran's nuclear fuel program was much more advanced than a series of IAEA reports and Washington's own intelligence assessments have determined.

IAEA spokeswoman Melissa Fleming said: "We felt obliged to put the record straight with regard to the facts on what we have reported on Iran. It's a matter of the integrity of the IAEA."

The letter said the report falsely described Iran to have enriched uranium at its pilot centrifuge plant to weapons-grade level in April, whereas IAEA inspectors had made clear Iran had enriched only to a low level usable for nuclear power reactor fuel."

10. The are working on the Q-bomb. It is common knowledge that this,
which can not only destroy the North American Continent while transmuting lead into gold and curing Iranian cancer simultaneously is the true aim of the Iranians...

Or do they want some electricty once their oil runs out? I get so confused about all this fancy nuwclear stuff these days, Le Monde Diplomatique (French, therefore suspect for real Americans) tells us they are doing what Brasil is doing... Ari Cohen tells us they are going to ullulate as the bombs go off in Haifa and Tel Aviv.

Maybe they are sore about the scrapped reactors and empounded billions they have after the Revolution and want some elecricity and a little sabre rattling -- they are surrounded by US backed/occupied territory, one realizes.
