BBC: Ex-president blasts Blair US role (Jimmy Carter)
Ex-US President Jimmy Carter has said he is "disappointed" by the apparently subservient attitude of the British government towards the White House.

Mr Carter said Tony Blair was a good man, but could have used his influence with President Bush more wisely.

The 81-year-old said there had once been "a very strong voice from London in the shaping of a common policy".

His comments, to the BBC's Newsnight, come with Mr Blair under pressure over the timing of his exit from power.

1. Mr. Carter is a good man and gives the benefit of the doubt to
others. But Tony Blair is not a good man. He is an evil little turd. The sooner Labour :hurts: flushes him the better.

As much as i admire, its pretty easy these days to pick a problem with blair, but too few
was willing to speak up at the time to stop a mass murder, and now it's all the rage to
pretend we were all anti-war all along.(realizing carter's holy status as a christian saint
and his pacifism and wise counsel are always good to hear)

3. I really like and respect Jimmy Carter!
And, while normally I would not expect a former (or current) leader of another country to comment on our country's internal politics, I think that in this case it's very necessary and appropriate, because Tony has been playing the 'special relationship' card for all it's worth, and implying that war critics are anti-American. Carter's comments are further evidence that this is all rubbish.

Aarrrghhh, I'm sick of Tony!
