Osama's on the move again (asia times)
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 03:34 PM by lumberjack_jeff
KARACHI - Osama bin Laden is on the move, and Tuesday's terror attack on the US Embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, could be a tangible result of this.

Exclusive information obtained by Asia Times Online shows that the al-Qaeda leader recently traveled from the South Waziristan tribal area in Pakistan to somewhere in the eastern Afghan provinces of Kunar and Nooristan, or possibly Bajour, a s mall tribal agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Area of Pakistan in North-West Frontier Province.

----------------------------------------------

I guess it was getting a little too comfortable in Pakistan.

4. Asia Times usually has pretty decent analysis of US Imperialism and
failed policies. This is so dumb. If they know where he is in such specificity, why don't they tell Condi.. I hear she says he can't be found because he doesn't want to be found. :eyes:

10. If bush put NORAD after him...he's a goner.
NORAD couldn't even intercept 4 high jacked planes in a couple hours.
NORAD will let him go too.

8. That's logical in a way
..however, if OBL(if still actually alive is caught) , wouldn't that change the dynamics of the PNAC? They want to take over the world, and they can't do it unless fear and terrorism is alive. Osama is the poster boy.

19. I wonder if OBL will be "captured" and held in some foreign prison...
...just before the election, and after the Repubs win due to the "OBL captured and will stand trial" campaign claptrap, he'll mysteriously "escape" this foreign prison before the Americans could arrange for extradition...

The Repubs will have the Election2006 victory and their boogieman will still be on the loose...

33. Well, now, think about it...
He WAS the poster boy until we invaded a country with no ties to 9/11. Now we have a brand new insurgency to focus all our energy on even if OBL disappears to Cuba or is vaporized. That might work out better for the trainwreck-in-Chief since he is desperately waving his arms trying to prove the mess we made in Iraq is relevant to the war on terror...OBL might have outlived his usefulness.

Help me; I think I am starting to think like "them." :grr:

9. I hate to be a real bi*tch here, but how does the Asian Times
know what Osama's movements are and where he is and we don't?

Is it really true that our intelligence community is THAT BAD?

16. Asia Times has a lot of good sources
I use them a lot for business news. They have reporters in places like the remote parts of Paksistan. Unlike, say, The New York Times. Or the CIA.

20. Perhapse you're right. I have NO faith in ShrubCo, but I did have
at least some faith in the Intelligence Community! Ihappen to believe a lot of the people deeply involved in intelligence are non-political and very dedicated!

I'm guessing ShrubCo won't let the info be released!

21. It's a good thing...
... the administration is running out of #2 guys to cheer about.

"Bigfoot, Osama Bin Laden's #2 comrade was recently arrested in a dramatic raid on the offices of the National Enquirer, it was revealed today, bla bla bla"

;)

I'd be surprised that OBL would leave Pakistan, unless it's gotten so cozy that it's now a suitable base for operations.

If Pakistan (which recently stopped looking for him) is a less-desirable locale than Afghanistan (which we, ostensibly, control) then the GWoT is worse than a sham.

After all, BushCo had to pay him back somehow for helping get the regime "reelected". They have known all along where he was "hiding".
