Gallup: Iraq War Dominates As Americans' Top Priority ('Terra' #6?)
Economy, gas prices, immigration secondary concerns

PRINCETON, NJ -- A recent Gallup panel survey finds that the Iraq war continues
to surpass all other issues by a wide margin when Americans are asked what should
be the govt's top priority.

In the Aug. 28-31 survey, 51% of Americans say the war in Iraq should be the top
priority for "the presdient and Congress to deal with at this time." No other issue
is mentioned near this frequency; the next group of issues are only mentioned by
12% - 16% of Americans, and include the economy, energy and gas prices, healthcare,
and immigration.

Issue - Percent mentioning

Situation in Iraq/war 51%
Economy in general 16%
Fuel/oil prices/etc 15%
Healthcare 14%
Immigration/Illegal aliens 12%
Terrorism 9%

7. That's why the schmuck-in-chief is trying so hard, so stridently, and
so desperately, to link Iraq to the "war on terr." Because he's got all his bets placed on the "Terr" spot. And unfortunately, according to this Gallup poll, the concern about Iraq trumps everything else by miles. His pet cause, "terr," is last on the list-of-six - at NINE percent, compared to 51 percent for Iraq. Those are numbers that are awfully hard to fudge, even taking into account a margin for error.

3. tsk tsk tsk..
Guess it's time to drag out Bin Laden again. If the Dems had any sense they would make a preemptive strike against that eventuality. ARE YOU LISTENING DEMS!!!! You should know that bush's bestest bud OBL will once again come to his rescue like he did before the 2004 election. Your talking point against bush and cheney should be, by fighting terrorism they're just doing their jobs like any president would do.
