Polls: More Than 4 in 10 Americans Still Think Saddam Involved in 9/11 Attacks

NEW YORK Five years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, better than 4 in 10 Americans still believe that former Iraq leader Saddam Hussein was personally involved in those attacks, according to two recent polls.

An Opinion Research Corporation on behalf of CNN released today on numerous issues surrounding the Iraq war, asked whether Hussein was personally involved in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Fifty-two percent said he was not, but 43% said they believe he was.

This comes despite wide media debunking of this notion for years. At a news conference this past August 21, President Bush was asked if Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 and he said it had "nothing" to do with the attacks. Yet polls show that a majority of Republicans continue to state that Hussein was involved.

A Zogby poll released earlier this week found similar results, with 46% claiming that Iraq was connected to 9/11, again with 2 out of 3 (65%) of Republicans feeling this way.

4. and THIS is one of the main points I addressed
in my several emails to ABC about their (hopefully soon to be cancelled) propaganda piece. when you have almost half the country believing the complete lie about Hussein, due only to the fact that it's been catapulted ad infinitum, it is reprehensible for any media organization to catapult more lies.

7. Bullshit. The news media failed to debunk Bush
Every other fucking speech he gave mentioned Saddam and 9/11 and Osama over and over again, and none of the news networks launched any concerted campaign to critically examine his words. They simply acted as a megaphone for Bush. The reason why so many people are misled is because they failed.

Maybe we need to revisit intelligence tests as a qualification for voting.

11. I was listening to the Majority Report last night
and it was truly amazing. Sam had challenged any mouth breather to call in that still believed this crap. And sure enough, two boobs called in right away and began to spout age old and clearly disproven lies that the admin* fed them connecting Saddam and 9/11. It was amazing. Truly staggering.
And when Sam started railing on them, they would sputter something about F911 having all sorts of inaccuracies, etc. Sam wouldn't back off. Basically saying what does that have to do with 9/11 and Saddam?

mindless parroting mouth breathers.

17. it is frightening
it truly is. For Propaganda to work though, there generally has to be a smidgen of truth to it, but in this case, there just isn't.

20. If Saddam had something to do with 911, why isn't he on trial in the U.S.?
Do these idiots not realize that if there was the least bit of evidence that Saddam had anything to do with 911 there would be a huge show trial and public execution in the U.S.?

25. 4 in 10 Americans Still Think Saddam Involved
A brief digression on the American Voter:

Those "4" Americans have evolved physically to Moderm Man (Homo sapiens). However their complex thinking/rational skills aren't fully developed because they're somewhere in the late Cro Magnon (early Homo sapiens) / Early Modern Man stage of Human Mental Evolution. IMO

If I put it in that context it makes me feel better. Its either Votes or DNA that will make the positive change, and I'm not going to be around long enough for DNA to do it.

26. If for nothing else, Bush ought to be reviled continually by our media
interviewees for WILLFULLY ALLOWING THIS IGNORANCE TO CONTINUE.

I.e., he is DELIBERATLEY misleading Americans, some to their VERY DEATHS.

THAT puts the lie to his "job to protect Americans".

32. This is precisely why that "documentary" must be pulled. Once it is out
there and viewed by the American public, all the lies it contains will have become "fact". Americans will not change their minds about something once it is in their heads.
