MIAMI (AP) - U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris led early primary election tabulations Tuesday in her bid to claim the GOP nomination for the Senate, and Rep. Jim Davis led in the race for the Democratic nomination to succeed popular Gov. Jeb Bush.

With 26 percent of the precincts reporting, Harris had 49 percent of the vote against three relative unknowns. Attorney Will McBride ran second at 31 percent, and retired Navy admiral LeRoy Collins had 14 percent.

In the Democratic gubernatorial race, Davis led state Sen. Rod Smith 47 percent to 40 percent.

State Attorney General Charlie Crist led the race for the Republican nomination to replace Bush, who must step down because of term limits. Crist had 63 percent of the vote to 34 percent for Tom Gallagher, the state's chief financial officer.

2. Good news! I'm pulling for her.
Because there's still a lot of daddy's money left to squander.
