Talabani unveils timetable for foreign troops pullout from Iraq
BAGHDAD, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- Iraqi President Jalal Talabani unveiled on Tuesday a possibility of setting up a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq by the end of next year.

Speaking at a joint news conference with visiting British foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett, Talabani said that the Baghdad government would discuss the foreign troops' withdrawal from Iraq when the Iraqi security forces become capable of preserving peace and stability in the country.

He expressed hope a timetable can be set by the end of next year.

He said the Iraqi troops are being equipped with weapons and latest equipment to confront terrorism, adding that there would be no need for foreign troops presence in the country when violence dwindles.

Bring the troops home now.

No country wants to have a foreign dictator occupying their land.

4. Da US ain't building over a dozen bases just to leave them behind for Iraq
.
.
.

get a grip guys.

The US is there to stay

Iraq doesn't even have an Air Force anymore

and are surrounded by nuclear armed subs, land-nukes in Israel, and so on.

The PNACers could care less about the oil right now - it's still in the ground, the PNACers will get it sooner or later.

The "insurgents" know what's going on,

but the politically motivated puppets in the Iraqi "government" are either too dense or greedy for their own gain to do anything about it.

The USA has invaded, occupied, and overrun Iraq,

while playing the game that they are there to spread democracy and make Iraq "self-sufficient" and able to defend itself . .

Well, then help them develop and Air Force and give them those bases that you are building faster than hospitals, schools and infrastructure!

as if . . .

(sigh)

5. Since Bushie is so fond of WWII comparisons
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 06:57 PM by RamboLiberal
FDR managed to build a military that ranked in the mid-20's in strength before Pearl Harbor into a force that defeated two formindable nations in this period of time. Yet the Iraqis with our money and assistance can't raise a military and police force to defeat this bunch of insurgents! What a load of crap!

And it's not like Iraq at one time did not have a military. Without a deadline the U.S. is going to be stuck there till we get dingbat out of the WH!
