Chambers seeks to have ex-trooper's license revoked for KKK tie

LINCOLN (AP) - State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha demanded Tuesday that the law enforcement license be revoked for a former Nebraska State Patrol trooper fired for his membership in a white supremacist group.

Chambers filed a compliant with the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice against former Trooper Robert Henderson.

He was fired in March for conduct unbecoming an officer after an investigation revealed he was a member of the Knights Party, a group with ties to the Ku Klux Klan.

"As a black man, an elected official and a citizen of Nebraska, I am deeply offended that a member or the Nebraska State Patrol joined the Ku Klux Klan, a notorious terrorist organization who hallmarks have been bombings, burnings, lynchings ... and general lawlessness," Chambers said in his complaint.
