Widow's Bush Treason Suit Vanishes in Blink of Media Eye
Not everyone's favorite news source...
http://engforum.pravda.ru/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=46171

"The decision 'not to do the story' appears to be multiplying all over the nation." -- Fred Powledge, ACLU

"Whoever said `no news is good news,' was BADLY misinformed." -- Dan Rather

Think you're already amazed, alarmed or appalled enough by the state of US journalism today? Chew on this a while and think again.

Grieving New Hampshire widow who lost her man on 9/11 refuses the government's million dollar hush money payoff, studies the facts of the day for nearly two years, and comes to believe the White House "intentionally allowed 9/11 to happen" to launch a so-called "War on Terrorism" for personal and political gain.
<snip>

And NEWSWORTHY link from this story: The Suit is available on line now at this link: http://www.nancho.net/911/mariani.html

1. Whoa, now that is newsworthy!
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 07:25 PM by 54anickel
Sure looks like she's got a case! Million bucks of hush money tends to lean that way as well.
Hope she's got good bodyguards.

On edit (after reading thru whole article; went to actual case first)
I like this tidbit:

A few years back Harold Evans of the London Sunday Times, observed that the challenge facing American newspapers "is not to stay in business -- it is to stay in journalism.'' As corporations' authoritarian, profit-driven consciousness comes to dominate both media and governance, you can expect a lot more serial celebrity scandals and even less news on the way things work or anything that really counts.

5. I hope she gets her day in court
and this whole thing comes out into the open.. However I imagine she will "commit suicide" or will have an unfortunate accident.. Our rulers who hide behind the veil of "democracy".. Will shut her up and all that support her understanding of how this country really works.

Welcome to the New World Order.

12. Your final paragraph makes a good point.
This is the biggest stumbling block to honest reporting - the media
moguls are concerned about offending their advertisers and will not
run anything that might cost advertising dollars. They also have
interests in many other businesses and big corporations themselves,
and too often will take the line that will result in the most profit
for themselves. (Rupert Murdoch publicly stated that he supported
war with Iraq because it would result in cheaper oil, and that would
be good for business. No ethics or morality here).

I think the problem appears to be worst in the U.S., but I can tell
you Australia isn't far behind - after all, Murdoch owns 70% of our
print media, and our dear Prime Minister would love to hand him
television on a plate as well. But what do we, the truth-seeking
public, do about it? The situation as it is no doubt suits lots of
politicians on both sides of the divide - not many of them have
perfectly clean hands themselves. But there's little doubt it's the
biggest problem faced by progressive thinkers in the western world,
and one which doesn't seem to interest politicians of the left very
much, although it generally works against them.

For my part, I'll email this information to everyone on my list, but
that's still a relatively small pond. How to get this story out to
the wider public? Only a few weeks ago, my husband got into a very
heated argument with an old friend of ours who became very angry
when he suggested that Bush knew in advance of 9/11 - she simply
refused to listen to any argument he put forward, probably because
she hasn't seen this on television. Therefore it isn't so. This
is the kind of attitude that prevails, and it's a huge worry.

Still wondering why they're hiding the files on 9-11. They'd go down harder than the towers if the truth were allowed to come out.

2. How to raise the profile of this?
Any good suggestions on how to expedite this storygetting some traction? All I can think of is to forward to local media. But efficacy of that approach is dubious without mass mailings. I really want to do something about this.

4. Interesting but...
is there still a judicial branch of government? I mean, all the Bush administration has to do is find the right appellate court, of which they have many.

Don't get me wrong, I just think she should file at the Hague.

9. How about the "suicide" of the gal that claimed that Bush raped her?
That article dissapeared in a heart beat too.. We have been taken over.. cover your asses.. Pretend to be dumb and hide.

The first thing a totalitarion government does it to attach "the press" into it's clutches.. It has already happened as you might have noticed.. that is why they are silent on this and many other subjects.

10. I think this has much sturdier legs than that story. I hope that it gets
more press. It's something we can throw to all the papers and news outlets that has a lot more voracity (IMHO).

legal case. I've seen more about Margie Shoedinger here than about this Law Suit. Even our Dem friendly columnists aren't touching it. If 3,000 press releases went out, then surely Marshall, Conason, Corn and Lyons got it. What gives here?

I was hoping there would be an e-mail campaign. Or letters to Senate and House Members. But, when I thought about it, I realized that I would be afraid to send this, for fear someone would use my e-mail address. If even foreign newspaper aren't reporting on it (except Pravda) then who would want to have their comments out there given the viciousness of these people

Maybe it's too HOT to touch? It seems very legitimate. Remember Paula Jones? That trumped up pile of hearsay? But to challege the whole "unelected" Bush Administration.....well, that's a tough order. And challenging his father's whole group and his grandfather's Nazi support, would mean the whole dirty bag of tricks of Policy for decades would be exposed.

So, this probably won't go anwhere. Dirt is already being dug up on the lawyer and the plaintiff. They will be exposed as nut cases or having drug problems, probably.

Sad......this should be investigated as thoroughly as Whitewater, but it won't be.

Either that, or get sex or a pretty into the picture. That seems to be the only thing cable news cares about anymore.

19. The press became a partner to the GOP quite some time ago...
...and really hit its' stride when reporting on Clinton from 1992-2000. The rightwing propaganda spewed by the mainstream media set the stage for the NeoCon Coup in Decenber 2000.

15. I thought about this kidnapping story today.....
I realized this was the new "distraction" to throw in the publics face. Michael has worn thin on everybody's nerves and Kobe is a non-issue since he won't be going to trial until next year and the DC sniper trial is on it's 2nd case....gotta have something "fresh" to throw to the masses to take 'em away from the real news. I feel sorry about the girl in North Dakota but unfortunately, people get kidnapped a lot more often than we ever hear. Her story is now part of the diversion tactics media is using more and more.

Philadelphia Inquirer picked it up..
"Sept. 11 widow sues the President"

ABC News, Chicago Tribune, and some others. Some stories talk about her case against United Airlines.

Looks like the cable media whores totally ignored it...

25. Before and during the Revolutionary War, colonial journalists risked
financial ruin, loss of liberty and even their lives to speak out against the British Crown.

Now turn on the cable news and get a good look at what we have now.
