Talent pulls even with McCaskill in Senate race
Associated Press

ST. LOUIS - A new poll shows Republican Sen. Jim Talent and Democratic challenger Claire McCaskill are about even in their race for the U.S. Senate.

The latest Research 2000 poll, released Sunday and conducted for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and KMOV-TV, showed 47 percent backed McCaskill and 46 percent supported Talent. Two percent supported Libertarian Frank Gilmour, while the remaining 5 percent were undecided.
(snip)

Del Ali, head of Research 2000, attributes Talent's recent gains to his expensive blitz of positive advertisements over the past six weeks.

Combined, his campaign and an allied group have outspent McCaskill on TV ads by a margin of 10-to-1. In most parts of the state, Talent's ads are the only ones on the air. McCaskill ads are airing only in Republican-rich southwest Missouri. Hers are expected to go on TV statewide this month.

3. Here we go again
For NO REASON WHATSOEVER, Repubes are 'pulling closer' to Dem challengers. Getting them close enough to steal I see.

What godly reason would there be for a republican recovery of any sort? NONE.

Goddamn, if this happens again, I hope this country doesn't roll over and take it again.

We NEED DESPERATELY to have Dems split the government to reign in the Reich Wing.

And the continued theft of elections under our noses has got to stop.

5. More than likely!
We also have the stem cell issue on the ballot which will draw out Talent Supporters and make the win even more explainable.

6. Exactly what they did in Ohio in 04
They placed the gay marriage ban on the Ohio ballot to draw out the fundies.

9. Yup!
I was out shopping yesterday and in the parking lot, it was the battle of the bumper stickers, with the "It's just wrong" (meaning stem cell research) winning hands down.

8. How impressive
The incumbent Senator has taken until Labor Day to draw even with his challenger.
