So they've got Mr. Not Quite Big. I'm willing to bet that he'll have documents on him that point to some 'really huge' terrorist plot that was going to be staged in the US 'real soon now.' Ooh, it'll be a big plot. Huge. Really, really enormous. It'll make 9/11 look like a fender-bender. Feckin' hell, these guys're gonna blow up the friggin' Universe. It'll be one really sizeable goddamn plot.

8. Al-Qaeda in Iraq goes through #2 guys like tissue paper.
Besides, al-Queada in Iraq has always been a minor player
in the Sunni insurgency. The civil war they instigated
is running at full tilt. Iraq is on the verge of breaking up.
This arrest is too little too late.

That of course, is a metaphor for Bush's Iraq policy, where the number two is definitely coming thru the tissue paper.

I thought they killed or captured a lot of number two's already. I guess number three becomes number two when number two gets killed or captured. Do I have that right?? Oh. He was number two in Iraq. So they are in every country and they are all numbered. Wow.

15. I've Seen That Movie Too
I can see by your eyes you must be lying
When you think I don't have a clue
Baby you're crazy
If you think that you can fool me
Because I've seen that movie too

The one where the players are acting surprised
Saying love's just a four letter word
Between forcing smiles, with the knives in their eyes
Well their actions become so absurd

So keep your auditions for somebody
Who hasn't got so much to lose
`Cause you can tell by the lines I'm reciting
That I've seen that movie too

It's a habit I have, I don't get pushed around
Stop twinkling your star like you do
I'm not the blue print for all of your B films
Because I've seen that movie too

I remember when, just after the last #2 was captured, the msm did a story on who was now the #2 man. I figured they must, just like Bush, fax talking-points to our media--perhaps with a chart of the chain of command.

29. Don't miss this very important piece of
food for the wingnuts:

Al-Saeedi was arrested as he was hiding in a residential building, the security adviser said, accusing the terror suspect of trying to use "children and women as human shields," al-Rubaie said, adding that no casualties occurred during the arrest.

"He was hiding in a building used by families. He wanted to use children and women as human shields," Rubaie said.

Working on intelligence gained after the death of Zarqawi, Hamed al-Saeedi was tracked down to a house in Tikrit, where he was reportedly found hiding behind women and children. Al-Saeedi was captured by Iraqi Forces, without a shot being fired.

46. The Iraqi government claims a "fatal blow" against al-Qaeda (again).
Arrest deals 'fatal blow' to al-Qaida in Iraq

· Capture of senior jihadist creates 'leadership crisis'
· Gloomy Pentagon report raises fear of civil war

Julian Borger in Washington
Monday September 4, 2006
The Guardian

The Iraqi government yesterday claimed to have dealt "fatal blows"
to the al-Qaida operation in Iraq with the capture of its deputy
commander, Hamed Jumaa Farid al-Saeedi, and the arrest or killing
of 11 other leading al-Qaida jihadists.

Mr Saeedi's arrest was announced by the national security adviser,
Mouwaffak al-Rubaie, who said that the al-Qaida militant was responsible
for attacks on Shia Iraqis aimed at provoking civil war, including
the bombing of a shrine in Samarra in February, and the organisation
of death squads.

-snip-

"We believe that al-Qaida in Iraq suffers from a serious leadership crisis.
Our troops have dealt fatal and painful blows to this organisation," he said.

-snip-

Full article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/alqaida/story/0,,1864287,00.html

If this sounds familiar, it's becuase the Iraqi government said
the exact same thing three months ago when al-Zarqawi was killed.

51. Al-Qaeda's No. 114 Killed On Office Depot Run
The FBI has announced that Jalal Dawoud, a suspected al-Qaeda lieutenant, was killed in a single-car accident while en route to procure miscellaneous office supplies Tuesday. "The DHS is proud to announce that this man, ranked No. 114 in al-Qaeda's terrorist organization, was fetching some toner and a box of gel pens, but was struck and killed before he could carry out his orders," said FBI Agent Lloyd Hopkinsen, who led a team of 36 investigators to the accident scene. "This is an important victory in the war against terror." The driver who struck Dawoud, livery cab driver and al-Qaeda's suspected No. 54 man Stefan Abu Ali, was treated for minor injuries and released from a Baltimore hospital.
