Former Republican vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp is coming to Connecticut to campaign for Senator Joe Lieberman.

Lieberman, who is a former Democratic vice presidential candidate, is running as an independent for re-election after losing this month's Democratic primary to Ned Lamont. He says Kemp, a former congressman and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, called him to offer his support.

No date has been set for the visit.

Kemp was former Kansas Senator Bob Dole's running mate during his unsuccessful presidential run in 1996.

If I recall correctly, Kemp worked for Poppy as the head of HUD, and has a very Reaganish view of economics. Just the kind of supporter somebody who claims to be a Democrat at heart would welcome. :sarcasm:
