Body of former Afghan commander found in E Afghanistan
KABUL, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have found the body of Mohammad Yunus, a former Afghan commander, in Afghanistan's eastern Nooristan province, a local newspaper said Wednesday.

Yunus, who served as commander of Hekmatyar-led Islamic party the Hizb-e-Islami in war against the former Soviet Union and recently established local militia force to support President Karzai's government, was kidnapped with his two bodyguards in his home province Nooristan on Aug. 20.

"Yunus's body was found in Chinar Khor area of Kamdish district Tuesday morning while the bodies of his bodyguards were found a day after their kidnapping," daily Outlook said.

Quoting local officials, the daily accused Taliban militants of abducting and killing the former pro-government commander and his guards. The Taliban's radical movement has yet to make any comment.
