Bush: Anger over war won’t change U.S. policy
Calling resistance against terrorism the “defining struggle of the 21st century,” President Bush declared Tuesday that he would not let Americans’ frustration with the war deter him from finishing the job in Iraq.

In an exclusive interview Tuesday night on “NBC Nightly News,” the president said history would vindicate his decision to invade Iraq in 2003 and remove President Saddam Hussein from power. But it would consign him to ignominy if he heeded the calls of critics and much of the public to pull U.S. troops home before democracy could be stabilized in Iraq, he said.

“If we lose our nerve and leave the Middle East before the job is finished, the world will be much worse off,” Bush told “Nightly News” anchor and Managing Editor Brian Williams.

8. But it really isn't funny when realize what he's really saying...
He's continuing to kill our soldiers, sacrifice thousands upon thousands of lives, so that he isn't judged harshly by history. That's seems to be his motive now. At his age, with his problems, he's probably facing down the final years of his life realizing that EVERYTHING he has ever touched has turned to shit. Everything. I am sure he thought Iraq would be the great cleanser of his sordid business past, at least according to the evil puppetmasters behind the scenes. They knew they had the perfect stooge. A balance of desperation, hubris, arrogance, extreme narcissim...he was the perfect foil for them, and took the bait in a big way. Now, his "retirment" years will be filled with more and more ridicule and derision, as he goes down in flames for the most colossal "business" failure in world history.

Good goin', George. You're a fuck-up to the last! Deal with it, please. Seek professional help. But stop killing people in the hopes you'll go down in history as the savior of the world. The horse has left barn on that one, dude!

25. Awesome post...
You don't need me to tell you that you nailed it with this post. :)

"Stooge" is the perfect descriptor for Junior. The neocons needed a sacrificial puppet. That way, if their PNAC plans fail miserably--Junior takes the fall and they put their plans on the back burner until they find the next "stooge."

Like you said, "everything he has ever touched has turned to shit." Junior was going to be the biggest, bestest pResident ever. Finally, he could succeed at something and his daddy wouldn't have to sweep in and bail him out. That's why he's so resistant to his father's advice. Being leader of the free world is HIS project.

He's the decider.

13. bet they did it phonetically...
...Ig-no-mini

I'll cop to having to look up to see how it was pronounced.
While it's a word a lot of us see used on paper (along with its sibling ignominious) how often are either of them actually USED orally?

Do you suppose this could be an effort of Bush's speechwriters to repair his image of incoherent bumbler with a working vocabulary of 500 one-syllable words*? :sarcasm:

* not counting those he makes up; i.e. 'misunderestimate' 'strategery', etc...

29. They should teach him to speak
like Charlie Poole used to sing. String some words together into one and move syllables from one word to the adjacent one - made the lyrics almost unintelligible but sure stopped anyone from copying him. He'd died 1934 and it wasn't until the fifties that John Cohen and Tom Paley spent weeks decyphering the lyrics using old '78s and also figuring out the way in which he played his 5 string banjo. To hear him go here and play White House Blues - track 1. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Old-Time-Songs-Vol-1/dp/B0000012F2/sr=1-2/qid=1156947557/ref=sr_1_2/026-8167027-8557248?ie=UTF8&s=music

.. I feel sure that Bush's knowledge of history is SO limited.

What he actually knows about history would not even fill a
thimble.

He'll go down in history all right... in flames.

Why bend to the will of the people? You only SAID you'd represent them. But, as you said yesterday... you don't always MEAN to keep your political committments, and it's basically our fault for not knowing that in the first place. Silly us.
