Early pullout from Iraq will encourage extremists: Rice

WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned Tuesday against a premature withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, saying it would encourage extremists at an "immeasurable" cost.

If the United States pulled its troops out of Iraq before it achieves success, "the cost of failure will be severe, indeed immeasurable," she told the annual convention of the American Legion veterans in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"If we abandon the Iraqi people before their government is strong enough to secure the country, then we will show reformers across the region that America cannot be trusted to keep its word," Rice said.

Rice was speaking as pressure rises from the US public and from opposition politicians for the government to plan a withdrawal from Iraq.

7. Oh ! They're extremist now.
Terrorist, insurgents, dead enders....doubt they'll ever be called "rebels" cause that would equate them to a certain cause taken up in this country on at least 2 occasions.

9. Rice is such an over rated cabinet member
Her only claim to fame was as a scholar on the old Soviet Union. She was helpful as a token, but now she's also proved to be an embarrassment to this administration.

and it will encourage the chicken-hawk extremists to spread de-mock-racy to other oil producing countries!

14. Counter-talking points
1) If we left in fairly short order, the people who are killing American soldiers in Iraq will, what, exactly? Go back to rebuilding their country, or start building amphibious assault ships to storm Miamai Beach? Most likely it would give them a sense of victory over us evil infidel Americans, and they would return to their daily routines while slapping each other on the back and bragging about what they did to throw us out.

2) What would the cost of failure be, exactly? An Islamic-based government domainated by the same religions sect as Iran? 30% unemployment, with angry, idle Iraqis striking out at the foreign military force and their puppets that opress them? The formerly domainent minoruty religious sect being persecuted by the formally repressed majority religions sect? Sectarian violence bordering on a low-level civil war?

3) Why the hell would they they trust us in the first place? We told the Iraqis that if they rose up against Saddam, we would help them. And we didn't. We told them it wasn't for oil, but the first thing we secured during the invasion was secure the oil fields. Not the 6,000 years of civilization stored in the museums, the oil wells. We're building a dozen or more major permenant bases in Iraq. Our embassy is larger than Vatican City. And we're forcing the Iraqi government to sign over drilling and pumping rights of the Iraqi oil fields to Big Oil.

15. like our barging in there in the 1st place and plundering & mayhem
didn't "encourage extremists." Where were these "extremists" when Saddam was in charge?

and who gives a shit about so-called "reformers in the region" (code-speak for "American puppets")? It is SO arrogant to even THINK about "reforming" a culture that is thousands of years older than your own.
Let the Iraqis "reform" their own country, you disgusting piece of shit.

condi, I have never ever had an original thought of my own ever, rice is a colossal failure as a human being.

Perhaps if she stopped carrying the water for these fools and stopped sucking morons* dick long enough, maybe MAYBE she could clear some of the shit from her eyes.

I can't believe we live in a day, were the lowest bidders rule the country.
