Frist Medical License Renewal Questioned
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 5:30 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist acknowledged Tuesday that he may not have met all the requirements needed to keep his medical license active -- even though he gave paperwork to Tennessee officials indicating that he had.

The state of Tennessee requires its licensed physicians to complete 40 hours of continuing medical education every two years. Frist, a heart-lung surgeon who is considering a 2008 presidential run, submitted a license renewal with the Tennessee Health Department stating he has fulfilled that requirement.

Responding Tuesday to repeated requests from The Associated Press, a Frist spokesman said the Republican senator may not have done his continuing education after all, and had contacted the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners to see if corrective steps were necessary.

When it is a Republican that lies...it is always a mistake or an oversight...just like when they misspeak.
The MSM allows them to get away with this shit time after time after time after....ad infinitum.

My wife is an APRN, and also has to take a certain number of hours of continuing ed to maintain her license. This isn't something one "forgets" or "overlooks." It is the basis for maintaining your very license to practice. Frist is a lying sack of liquid, gooey, corn-filled SHIT!

Well done. As speaking of one Patent who is discussing life
with annother, "when was the time that your Doctor
introduced you to his Wife.?"

My current has no Idea how to handle an Iron. And doesn't
even remember to ask me' if I might like to compare with any
of the other Doctors with who(m) I have been invloved.

I expect that the answer (albeit a bit vague) to this
Conumdrum is still pasted up on the Surgery Wall. Even today.

It might be silly of me' to say so but I do not think that
they are doing much talking amongst themselves either.

I should have realised after going in, one day for an Electric
Test. And being told persistantly by the 'Customer Handler'
that the Equipment, "runs on batteries."

If I had'nt my wits about me' I am sure that I would have come
away from the experience thinking that that Nurse fancies
herself as a Policeman. A pity really because she's not.

Not that it matters to these fuckers.

5. Maybe someone from TN will
file a complaint about this serious omission. It is one thing to be short on CME hours. It is a totally different thing to misrepresent compliance, if that is indeed what happened.

He golfs with his colleagues, has a subscription to a couple of journals, and meets regularly with the people who run the family business (hospitals)

And Frist is a Dr.??? Amazing.

How in the world did he think he could get away w/ this, or how could he even THINK of taking the chance???? I mean, he's a fucking politician, didn't he realize how this would look and that people might look into this? Didn't he realize he was running for reelection? WTF was he thinking? Dumber than a sack of shit (my apologies to sacks of shit everywhere).

12. You do this as an EMT or Paramedic in Ohio
automatically go on probation, cannot practice for up two 2 years, you have to take the classes and remedial classes, and THEN a board decides if you can be renewed. Many times, you have to repeat paramedic or EMT school. AND, if you so much as get a traffic ticket, it can count against you. You name and your offense is published with the Dept. of Public Safety, and sent out in a newsletter with your offense, and your punishment and remediation course, if any, to every fire department and ambulance service emergency room in the state of Ohio for everyone to see.

A doctor who does this ought to at least fall under the same penalty for records falsification in order to renew a license.

...he also couldn't spare 40 hours over two years to keep his skills honed? That's about twenty minutes per week. I don't think I'd want to be in the care of a heart surgeon who spent less than 20 minutes per week keeping himself current.

20. My first thought is "Ah, let it go"
Then I remember how the Republicans, frustrated that they couldn't get a majority vote in the Senate on the articles of impeachment against Clinton (let alone the two-thirds vote they needed for removal from office), went and got his bar ticket pulled to practice before the Supreme Court. Now, Clinton is no longer practicing as an attorney, and isn't going to be doing any oral arguments before the Supremes (a highly specialized field), but the symbolic nature of getting his ticket pulled made all the wasted effort on his impeachment worth it in some circles.

Getting Frist's medical license suspended or revoked would be a case of turn and turn about, and turn about is fair play. Or at least, it used to be before the Republicans seized power. There's probably some obscure subparagraph in the USA PATRIOT Act that's negated that.

Suspension of his license might also cause Frist to have to resign as an officer in some of his corporate interests, should one of them be a medical corporation that requires its officers to be currently licensed physicians. That would be giggle-worthy for sure.

I wouldn't trust him to do cardiothoracic surgery on the gameboard "OPERATION" he'd probably screw it up.

He's probably an outdatted has been when it comes to medicine in general much less something as thoroughly comlicated as cardiothoracic surgery. If you don't do lots of surgeries, you have a tendency to kind of suck in that field, and I imagine that this is the case with Catkiller Frist.

25. Having first hand knowledge of licensing boards...
I would expect the TN Board would suspend his license at the very least. Let me restate that, they should hold a hearing, and THEN suspend his license. They could also apply criminal charges, I believe, for falsifying the renewal.

Now, what they should do and what they actually do are two very different things, unfortunately.
