U.S. soldier killed by bomb near Baghdad
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A roadside bomb killed a U.S. soldier southeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said Sunday.

The soldier, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was killed on Saturday night when the explosion struck the vehicle in which he was riding, the military said in a statement.

At least 2,622 members of the U.S. military have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

A U.S. soldier was killed Saturday night southeast of Baghdad when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb explosion, the U.S. military said. At least 2,600 U.S. military personnel have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

On Sunday, a bomb planted in a small bus detonated outside the Palestine hotel in downtown Baghdad, killing at least nine people and injuring 16, police and witnesses said. Another car bomb exploded in the parking lot of a government-run newspaper in the capital, killing at least three people and injuring at least 29.......

A bomb exploded in the town of al-Khalis, on the outskirts of Baqouba just north of Baghdad, killing six and wounding more than a dozen, provincial police said.

another nation worse off now than they were before bush's bullshit invasion, and add in the tens of thousands of sick, wounded, psychotic Americans (never mind the hundreds of thousands of dead non-Americans) and bush's kill/casualty rate is beyond the 911 rate.

And remember, several hundred of the 911 dead were NOT AMERICANS. Altho you'd never know that by US "media".
