Rove blames 9/11 on lack of illegal wiretaps
Apparently all the cell phone wiretaps that led to the information that generated the memo "BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE WITHIN THE US" were not enough to prevent 9/11.
The government needed to illegalling wiretap individuals to gather information to put into a memo that it would ignore and lead to 9/11.

Karl Rove should be thinking of policies like say screening all of the cargo that enters the US or maybe scanning for liquid explosives like at the White House.

read the story here:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/24/rove.spying.ap/index.html

Whine all you want Rove, but the president was given a memo alerting the government that a major terrorist strike was imminent AND that information was gathered by tapping phones. I suppose Rove should start whining to the terrorist for not providing more clearly the exact day, time, location and type of terrorist attack so the government could have acted accordingly.

1. I've been trying to not say this too bluntly but...
every time I see this story - and I am seeing it a LOT - hey, there's a lot of nasty, evil, un-American stuff that the government could have been doing that MIGHT have prevented 9/11. The country could've been turned into a fascist nightmare with everyone being watched by Big Brother. Maybe that could've prevented 9/11... does that mean we should turn the country into a fascist nightmare, then?

I'm a bit reluctant to find out what a lot of conservatives would answer to that.

2. They're setting up the construct for the next 9/11
That this is all liberals' fault. Activist judges, Clinton, and "5th column" liberal traitors are responsible for our weakness in the war on terror.

7. bingo, I think they are biding their time
till there's another big attack
They are trying to play both sides, if there is no attack the republicans want the credit for "protecting" us

If there is an attack they'll blame us liberals for putting up roadblocks to catch the bad guys.

Even though you could literally drive a semi right through our country's security laced with all kinds of lethality.

So I make the simple point, if your claiming that illegal wire taps could have prevented 9/11 then why didn't the wiretaps that had the CIA's hair on fire and delivered a memo to the President "Bin Laden determined..." and all the countless other information stop 9/11.

Oh yeah, the darn terrorists didn't give us the day, time, type and location of the attack

41. I agree with you 100%
I certainly will be staying away from crowded shopping malls, and I damn sure ain't getting on any planes for awhile. The saddest part is, I'm not afraid of Terrorists anymore, I'm afraid of our government engineering an attack for their own political gains. Man I wish we could put all of these fuckers behind bars before any more innocent Americans are sacrificed for their "see we told you so" agenda. It's so ironic that the "understood" terror alert will be at RED prior to the elections. Hey Karl, we know who the real terrorists are now, and we are starting to rise up against them.

Of course probably the best known is Fahrenheit 9/11.. which I still can't watch all the way through in one sitting.

Of course in fairness there is some question as to there being 100% accuracy on a few things but there's still enough hard facts to get a person's blood pressure soaring. :grr:

34. Maybe Karl meant to say "lack of sleep" was to blame for 9/11
If only Bush was given just one more week to sleep on his hammock down in Texas, he would've had the energy to single-handedly foil the entire plot. A whole month of the President of the United States lounging and playing with his puppy in front of the world's television cameras just is not enough time to recover from all that hard work.

Bushco and OBL have the same goals - to make the US a mere shadow of her former self (I believe that's how OBL originally put it). Bushco are the real terrorist threat to our nation. Fear, fear, terror, terror, they'll get you unless we have full control. Must be on OBL's payroll.

French filmmaker Mathieu Verboud is set to release
a new documentary for European television this fall
which will reveal important new insights into the
case of former FBI translator and president of the
National Security Whistleblower’s Coalition Sibel Edmonds.

However, instead of receiving a promotion for bringing Ms.
Dickerson’s’ espionage to the attention of her
bosses, Edmonds was fired after she went in
frustration to the U.S. Senate.

39. FBI Agent Coleen Rowley was SCREAMING about this!
She was the one in the Minneapolis field office trying to get a warrant to search Zacarias Moussaoui's apartment but kept getting turned down by FBI HQ. Several times, actually.

They knew enough to stop this. The head-up-the-ass syndrome is truly awesome.

Incidently, Rowley, one of Time magazine's People of the Year in 2002, has retired from the FBI and is running on the DFL (Democratic Farmer-Laborers) ticket here in Minnesota's 2nd District. My district! :-)

Just the kind of person we need to investigate BushCorp after we win in November!

40.  David Ray Griffin takes aim at the official 9-11 story.....
By Steve Bhaerman

About 10 years ago, I was asked to perform comedy at a conference I quickly dubbed "the Paranoids Conference." Each presenter had a dark tale to tell of abductions, drug running, assassinations and other nefarious horrors too terrible to mention. There were whispers of government agents in our midst, so when it was my turn to perform, I said I was with the CIA. I paused while the audience gasped. "That's the Comedians Institute of America." It got a laugh, but no amount of laughter could counterbalance the toxicity of the atmosphere. I couldn't wait to leave.

Fast forward to a sunny Sunday afternoon early last year when I found myself in Santa Rosa's Church of the Rose to hear Dr. David Ray Griffin, author of a book on the 9-11 attacks called The New Pearl Harbor, as well as The 9-11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions. Griffin, a soft-spoken retired professor of theology with sandy, graying hair, proceeded to calmly and quietly dismantle the official 9-11 story. The room was filled to standing with people of all ages, many of whom attended the church. As Griffin made his case for how the official story could never have happened the way they said it did, I looked around me. Everyone was riveted, and yet I could detect no fear, no paranoia in the room.
Read rest to the story here

Clark book. If one did not read that book then you should.Just like the Downing Street Memo's and the Richard Clark book the mediawhores swept it all under the carpet, but the fellatio given to a president is a "constitutional crisis". uh huh and all the cable news outlets hired more writers and had theme music for that, but lies that causes death, no looking into....
