Dozens of Suspected Terrorists Captured in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - August 22, 2006 - As the U-S military tries to restore law and order in Iraq, it's pointing to some new successes.

Major General William Caldwell says in the past week, American and Iraqi troops captured more than 100 known or suspected terrorists. And he says that's "severely disrupted and disorganized" the capabilities of al-Qaida in Iraq.

The haul includes a man linked to the bombing of a Shiite shrine back in February. That incident triggered several other acts of sectarian violence.

The captures come after 35-hundred people died in Iraq in July. It was the deadliest month there since the start of the war.

5. 3500. In July. Think about that for a moment.
Liberate the Iraqis, my ass. Our "war" has devastated their country, hundreds of thousands of lives, not to mention the soldiers' lives lost or destroyed by injuries.

The very few people still supporting this "war" are just stubborn and/or stupid.

Why Bush and most of his original Administration remain in power after this atrocity is stupefying. Not only that, he does press conferences where he laughs and jokes and smirks.

Our local paper had an editorial about how Bush, in yesterday's press conference, was serious and somber when talking about the war, as if he really fucking cares. "...Now watch this drive!"
