Just saw this go by that the "next status hearing" of the case investigating the Hookergate/MZMGate as well as Brent Wilkes involvement is going to be MARCH 12th! (2007?!!) What the HELL is going to take six friggin' months for them to wait that long to restart the case then. WHY do we allow them to continue dragging their feet on these issues?! We NEED to know what the hell is going on before this election where possible. They've already delayed Libby's trial until next year! Now this with little or no publicity. Notice how they CONVENIENTLY left out the year on this date here to avoid this delay getting noticed! This is BS!!

Government's talks to continue with contractor in Cunningham case

WASHINGTON - The investigation stemming from the bribery conviction of former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif., will continue well past the November midterm elections under a federal court schedule set Monday.

The development came at a status hearing for defense contractor Mitchell Wade, who is cooperating with federal prosecutors after pleading guilty in February to bribing Cunningham in exchange for government contracts.

U.S. District Judge Ricardo Urbina agreed to delay sentencing proceedings against Wade and set the next status hearing in his case for March 12. That will allow Wade's cooperation to continue in the investigation, which still has several unresolved pieces.

Among them, a grand jury in San Diego has focused on another alleged co-conspirator in the case, defense contractor Brent Wilkes, who has not been charged. Also, Wilkes' childhood friend Kyle "Dusty" Foggo, a former high-ranking CIA official who resigned from the agency earlier this year, is under investigation over his role in the awarding of a government contract that went to Wilkes.

Cunningham is serving an eight-year prison term after pleading guilty to taking $2.4 million in bribes from Wilkes, Wade and others in return for funneling government contracts their way.

_Bush's Justice Department refused to move on the New Hampshire Republican phone jamming crimes until after the NEXT elect, TWO YEARS LATER, or was it even FOUR?

Who's going to make them obey the law, anyway? We've got coast to coast criminality with NO ONE likely to check it.

3. That's the latest pattern.. Get the courts to delay action.

Sounds like from what Leopold, etc. are saying, they are playing the same game with Fitzgerald on the Rove Plamegate case too! We should start confronting the media more to have them ask WHY it takes six months to get these cases moved forward. When it serves their purpose they can make it move fast. They obviously rushed Duke Cunningham's investigation and prosecution earlier, since they knew if it came out later in the year, then they might have him already be the nominee and have the "Tom Delay" problem.
