WP: Contender for DeLay Seat Quits
Contender for DeLay Seat Quits

Associated Press
Tuesday, August 22, 2006; A04

SUGAR LAND, Tex., Aug. 21 -- Sugar Land Mayor David G. Wallace withdrew Monday as a Republican write-in candidate for the seat vacated by the resignation of former House majority leader Tom DeLay.

His action left the Texas GOP united behind one write-in candidate, Houston City Council member Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. She won the party's endorsement last week.

Wallace previously indicated he would stay in the race despite the party's snub.

"What I am choosing to do at this time is unite with the Republican Party behind one candidate," Wallace said at a news conference. "There is no way that two write-in candidates could win. It would be very difficult and divisive to the Republican Party." He said the party did not pressure him to withdraw.

3. Another repub has been named as a write-in: Sekula-Gibbs, a
doctor.
I won't vote for her either.

12. She won't win. The name is too long.
Hyphenated and all. Confusing to feeble-minded republicans. Plus "Sekula" seems too much like "Secular"... the right wing will have too many misgivings.

Watch... Tom Delay will get more votes than the write-in. These republicans will do it to show their support for the man who helped make their party what it is today, a cess-pool of felons, frauds, and outright mass murderers.

7. Would the right name be Dr Shelley Sekula-Rodriguez-Gibbs?
She's a dermatologist who's been married 3 times. Doctor Sekula didn't change her name for husband #1. Her 2nd husband was popular Houston TV newsman Sylvan Rodriguez. He died of pancreatic cancer & she ran for city council as Shelley Sekula-Rodriguez. Shortly after election, she married again & became Sekula-Gibbs. Due to term limits, she's looking for a new job.

Recently, on the Council, she's come out as very anti-immigrant. For example: Houston Police do not inquire about a crime victim's or witness's immigration status; they only ask when someone's been charged with a serious crime. She's agin' this policy; most Houstonians aren't. (Far be it from me to criticize someone for coloring their hair--but she wasn't always quite THIS blond.)

When Dr. Sekula-Gibbs represents us in Washington , she will work tirelessly to:
* Secure America 's Borders
* Reform Immigration without Amnesty
* Protect Life and the Family
* Guard Against Restrictions to our Right to Bear Arms
* Replace Federal Income Tax with a Fair Tax, Reduce the Debt and Increase Jobs ...
* Elliminate (sic) Frivilous (sic) Law Suits and Provide Affordable Health Insurance

Juanita, of the World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc., surmises what went through the Mayor's mind: "Considering his options..." Hummmm. Option #1: Get off the write-in ticket and we'll let you have your first born back. Option #2: Stay on the write-in ticket and we'll drop you buck nakkid in Baghdad with "Everything is Sweeter In Sugar Land" tattooed on your butt.

Ann Coulter. Laura Ingraham. Monica Crowley. Nancy Grace. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs.

What Hell churns inside these peroxide-stained women's bellies? Are they supressed lesbians secretly yearning to kiss a girl, or are they merely the lost spawn of Joan Crawford?
