Three soldiers were killed during combat operations in Pech district of Kunar province, said Col. Tom Collins, the U.S. military spokesman.

1. Another of Bush's "victories" in the war on terra
Afghanistan is being lost just as Iraq was. The neocons that brought us these wars are now planning other wars for us to lose.

6. I know a pro-war right-winger whose nephew is there.
According to the RW, everything is great and morale is high. He said his nephew holds a command position. I told him my brother works with a man whose son is there, a sargeant, and he says morale is low. Extemely low. I asked the RW is he was going to believe the person who has to report good news to his superiors so he can get his promotion, or the man in the ditch holding the gun?

believe the crap that the leutenants tell them so they can write it into their reports to their superiors. He said his nephew was a field commander.

9. Pile em high

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Afghanistan
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Afghanistan
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Uruzgan and Kunar province

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

11. Notice that American soldiers "die" they are not "killed."
Oh, the games the media play with the words it allows the American public to absorb.

14. 4 U.S. Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- Coalition troops clashed with insurgents in two battles Saturday that left four U.S. and one Afghan soldier dead and six other Americans wounded, officials said.

The fighting was reported to be some of the heaviest in recent months and came as war-battered Afghanistan celebrated its independence day.

During a clash against Taliban militants in eastern Kunar province, three U.S. soldiers were killed and three others wounded, said U.S. military spokesman Col. Tom Collins.

In southern Uruzgan province, an American and an Afghan soldier was killed and three other Americans wounded in a four-hour clash with more than 100 insurgents, according to a NATO statement.

The troops used artillery and air support to repel the insurgent attack, a NATO statement said.
