Lawyers for Dead Enron Chief a Step Closer to Clearing His Name

HOUSTON (AP) -- Now that he's dead, Enron founder Kenneth Lay may finally have his name cleared.

The judge who presided over his trials is approving a request from his lawyers. They'll be allowed to substitute Lay's estate for the man himself in court proceedings.

6. They can clear him legally, but

I suspect history will not be very kind to Kenneth Lay. His name will always be attached to the Enron Scandal and no lawyer in the world will clear his name in the minds of the people from whom he stole everything. He was a liar and a thief and will be remembered as such. I hope the court clears out his entire estate and leaves the family with not one cent. Then they can enjoy the fine feeling of having everything taken from them, by Kenny Lay's action.
