Poll: Terror Concerns Increase
In Wake Of Brit Terror Arrests, 64% Say Attack In U.S. Likely In Near Future

(CBS) Last week's foiled terror plot in Britain has made the threat of airborne terrorism once again prevalent in the minds of the American public, a CBS News poll finds.

While the war in Iraq remains the number one problem facing the country, terrorism has risen to the number two concern, according to 17 percent of the respondents, up from just 7 percent last month.

And more Americans now expect a terrorist attack in the U.S. in the near future, despite the administration's report that there is no sign of terrorist activity on U.S. soil.

Sixty-four percent said a terror attack on the U.S. is likely in the next few months, up 11 points from earlier this year.

2. But of course! There's an election in less than 3 months.
I am SICK of the sudden terra!! deluge and how easily the American people are manipulated. I'm not saying there aren't bad people out there wanting to blow shit up, I'm saying our media and our government are riding it for all it's worth for political purposes.

Makes me want to :banghead:

safer, but much less safe under these bozos. Our safety is LESS under repubs, time to use this and talk and talk and talk and talk. If each of us can talk to enough people and point out the next step, vote democrat, it will help.

3. Can't let that terra'rist card out of the minds of the sheeple
Why November is just around the corner! Either a) we have another attack and the elections are suspended or b) they'll be coming up with alleged "plots" weekly so that they look like they are doing something, anything to keep us safer. Pffft.

5. Totally predictable
I gotta give Chrissy Mathews credit, he really clobbered Mehlman yesterday on his terra talking points, incompetency in Iraq, etc. He gave Dean a hard time too, but he really went after Mehlman, who is one slick lizard. But by the end, he was gasping like a fish out of water. I think the worm is finally REALLY turning. The Repukes don't get automatic respect anymore.

6. A dialogue from Men in Black comes to mind:
J (Will Smith): Why the big secret? People are smart, they can handle it.
K (Tommy Lee Jones): A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.

Its fearmongering at work, nothing more then another tactic to get people into thinking that the GOP is doing a good job. Its really a terrible regime of infidels who pander to religious extremism and corperate ideals....DONT BUY INTO THEIR BULLSHIT!
