Death toll from Baghdad blasts rises to 48-police

BAGHDAD, Aug 13 (Reuters) - The death toll from multiple Baghdad bomb attacks on Sunday climbed to least 48 people and 148 were wounded, police sources said.

4. So it looks as though the extra what was the number 5,000? extra US troops
sent into Baghdad to secure the city are not having any effect in reducing the violence thus far.
