Democrats Assail GOP Fundraising Effort
Democrats Cry Foul Over New Republican Fundraising Effort Mentioning War on Terrorism

WASHINGTON Aug 11, 2006 (AP)— Democrats assailed the Republicans Friday for e-mailing a fundraising appeal mentioning the war on terror hours after British authorities disclosed they had disrupted a plot to blow up aircraft headed to the United States.

"In the middle of a war on terror, we need to remain focused on furthering Republican ideas more than ever before," former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani said in a letter that asked for donations to the Republican National Committee.

The RNC blamed a low-level staffer for distributing the fundraising appeal, which the party said had been scheduled for release before news of the plot broke.

"Once the RNC learned of this error we ceased distribution of the e-mail," said Tracey Schmitt, a party spokeswoman.

Democrats didn't accept the explanation.

2. Just like he did at the RNC in 2004...mentioned 9/11 like 19 times...
and all that after the rePigs were screaming about Democrats 'politicizing' it.
Shameless whores, all of 'em.
Can't believe a word any of 'em say.

6. Well, he kinda has to. That's the only card he's got available to play.
He was evidently about to leave office in NYC in great disgrace before 9/11 happened, and especially because bush went AWOL for most of the day, leaving us rudderless and leaderless in a time of national crisis - Rudy stepped in and filled a BIG void. Never mind the 9/11 widows purportedly making gleeful hay out of this, as coultergeist would blaspheme. September 11th was the greatest thing EVER to happen to Giuliani. And he knows it. Pulled his ass out of a big sling, posthaste.

8. Exactly.
9/11 made Giuliani, such as that is. He would not denounce Coulter's foul comments about the 9/11 widows which makes him the same assclown as he was before 9/11. But don't forget he's Tweety's wet dream. Ugh.

3. Once again the Democrats are fighting with one hand behind their backs
Two can play at this game.

Democrats should come out with ads pointing out that bin Laden and Omar are still on the loose.

They should point out how it is Britain and other countries that are thwarting plots without any assistance, and most importantly knowledge, of the administration.

7. Chertoff's response to the news of the plot
Chertoff's response was to shut down the DHS computer network to the outside according to a friend who works as a network technician on the DHS contract.

What exactly is that going to do?

10. "The RNC blamed a low-level staffer"
Who's in charge of their message, just the low-level staffers? That's who gets to send out the blast faxes and emails? I thought they wanted the grown-ups back in charge? Why are they letting those crazy kids speak for their party?

Unless . . .
