Lebanon army calls reserves, may deploy to south

BEIRUT, Aug 7 (Reuters) - The Lebanese army called up reservists on Monday ahead of a possible deployment of 15,000 troops to the south of the country, security and political sources said.

"This is a preparatory move ahead of a decision that may come out of the cabinet to deploy 15,000 soldiers to the south," the political source said. A security source said: "We need to boost our numbers."

4. Not good
They has to hold on tight.
They cannot allow it to be a status of war with Isreal.

Isreal wants a war status.

8. They reason they would deploy would be to keep Hizbollah under
control. Stop firing hundreds of missiles into Israel.

The problem is this may cause of a civil war because Hezbollah has so much support in S. Lebanon.

11. No
I have a bad feeling that the stake might just be up.
1) PM of Lebanon reject UN draft resolution
2) Arab league call it one sided and heading for the UN

One thing I know the Arab League very very seldom unite on anything.
When they do fuck happened.

5. Hezbollah has better training and weapons
than the Lebanese army. It should just rename itself the South Lebanon Army.

7. It is clear they cannot beat the Isreal Army
So pushing it to a war status not much sense.

But if the PM say UN resolution not accepatble then :( what option.

Even then, still not much point in a fight that one cannot win.

Unless they going to have support. And that is not a pretty picture.

This is not 1967. Me do not like those pictures.

Do not really know how firm a stand the ARAB League taking.

10. If the Arab League Unite on this
Things can get very ugly. :(
It looks like they maybe be taking bull by horn.

I know there was a series of OIC meeting in my country which our PM is the chairperson.

OIC is Organisation of Islamic Countries.

Condi was here in our country for the Asean meeting which was follow by OIC

After that she was suppose to head for Beirut which she skip.

The mere fact that ARAB league going to UN is already an alarm bell.

Believe me this guys usually dont talk same lingo. To see a single front is worrying.
