Sen. Hagel absent from Iowa politicking

WASHINGTON - No Iowa cafe, cornfield or corn dog will be safe.

A herd of happy-looking potential 2008 presidential hopefuls - 10 so far - is expected to crisscross the Hawkeye State in August.

Some also will drop in on other key presidential campaign destinations, including New Hampshire, South Carolina and Michigan.

"It's getting real crowded at the baggage counter," joked Republican Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas.

know it yet.
