IDF: We hold one of the men behind soldiers' abduction
IDF: We hold one of the men behind soldiers' abduction

By Jonathan Lis, Amiram Barkat, Yoav Stern and Agencies

Major-General Amos Yadlin, chief of Military Intelligence, told the cabinet Sunday that the IDF has captured one of the Hezbollah men responsible for the kidnpapping of soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, the July 12 incident that sparked the war in the north.

Three IDF soldiers were wounded Sunday, one of them seriously, during fighting south of the Lebanese port city of Tyre

According to Yadlin, the Hezbollah man is being interrogated in Israel.

1. ya right
the idf knew exactly where the guy was that was responsible. to bad they can`t figure out where the precise location of where rockets were coming from so they wouldn`t have to slaughter refugees.

2. Get the waterboard ready!
We'll see how long it takes the Israeli torture machine to gain a confession out of this "alledged" kidnapper..

3. So they knew which individuals
were responsible all along? In that case, why didn't they set out to arrest these guys, instead of destroying an entire country?

4. *raises hand* because the goal was never to arrest those guys?
the goal was to destroy an entire country.
and, draw syria and Iran into the fray to justify the US attack of Iran already scheduled before the nov. elections.

6. Perhaps.
The inference that Israel knew ahead of time isn't valid. Might be true, but you can't show it from this article. It's merely consistent with the article.

But another source said they captured him and under interrogation he admitted he was one. That's one other inference. Just as valid as the first.

But there's a third: That they're wrong: Either they thought they knew but were wrong, that they misidentified the guy that they have and he's not one of them, or that the guy's lying so they really don't know who did it.

11. IDF captures. Hezbollah kidnaps.
Until we start to realize how we are being brainwashed and manipulated by the media on a continuous basis we are just sheep being led to the slaughter.

Where the heck are those special sunglasses from They Live?

12. israel is the canary in the mine
Edited on Sun Aug-06-06 10:57 AM by adriennui
think of the ramifications as you sit in your comfortable air conditioned homes. first it was the jews, next the gays, next the christians, next the buddists and hindus.

take a look around the world. israel is the country everyone loves to hate, but there are brushfires, ready to explode in the US, russia, thailand, indonesia, britain, france (yes, france), even sweet little sweden and denmark.

your glee will be shortlived.

13. I don't hate Israel
I hate their government and what they are doing, and I find your proposed scenario to be little more than fear mongering.

14. You have it exactly wrong.
Almost a converse of reality, a perfect mirror image of the actual threat.

You see, the Muslims are the canaries in the coal mine. They are the ones being tortured by various "Western" state governments, including the U.S. at Guantanamo and across Eastern Europe in the CIA's new archipelago and in thousands in Israel.

New Patriot Acts, legalized telephone surveillance of phone records by the latest new governmental agency, parallel court systems set up beneath the Defense Department, legalized torture, all in the name of "security" from the phantom menace of wackos in a faraway desert with World War II era small arms or non-weapons grade (probably depleted) uranium.

You seem to have it exactly wrong.

But thanks nevertheless.
