Nevada Hispanic population growth outpaces general increases

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's Hispanic population grew by 44 percent from 2000 to 2005 and now makes up nearly a quarter of the state populace, according to new estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The growth in the Hispanic population is more than twice the rate of population growth for the state as a whole in the same time period, which was 21 percent.

"In these times when Republicans are viewed as being very negative to Hispanics, some Hispanic Republicans are changing parties," he said. "It remains to be seen, but presumably Hispanics will go out and vote in force and in a bloc."

Demographics are inexorable, like a tectonic plate shifting.
I am not sure that this is purely a right-wing fear, as the ideology exists for a reason: It will find adherents regardless of their race.

telling Hispanics that dems are the only candidates who will support them...for some reason they were all repubs....

he went door to door...was 88 yrs old at the time.
