Two held over US serial killings (Phoenix murders)
Edited on Fri Aug-04-06 04:57 PM by Whoa_Nelly
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/5247222.stm

Police in a US city terrorised by two serial killers have arrested two men suspected of involvement in one of the sets of crimes.

Dale Hausner, 33, and Samuel Dieteman, 31, are suspected of being behind the so-called "Serial Shooter" case in Phoenix, Arizona.

<snip>
The two arrested men, who are friends, were held at a gated apartment complex in Mesa, less than three miles from where the 22-year-old was killed.

taken place. last week when i was talking to my sis, someone rang my doorbell. i told the man that he was tresspassing -- that this is a private road. when i told sis, she said "you know you shouldn't open the door for strangers -- there's a serial killer out there". i have an intercom system. i'll be using that from now on. :scared:

i do keep my alarm system on when i'm home alone. you never know. i also have a 38 special in my nightstand.

tell your friend to be careful. don't go out at night. that's when he hits.

7. i'm not really sure. i thought i heard around 10 pm. i could be
wrong. might be the one they caught that i'm thinking of.

there are certain areas of phoenix which i'm far away from that have a lot of crime. when i first moved here, i had no idea, i mean i'm from queens, new york. anyway i had lunch with a friend. we went to a health food restaurant downtown. i didn't lock my car. she said "you have to lock your car, you're in south phoenix". well it didn't seem very threatening to me, but i locked it to keep her happy. it didn't look like a bad neighborhood. after a year or so i began to learn about these areas.

now many of those areas are going through a renovation. people are buying up older homes and remodeling them. things are constantly changing here.

5. What does "held at a gated apartment complex " mean.? Were
they cornered by citizens before the cops came?

8. well a gated apartment complex speaks for itself. i'm not
sure about whether the citizens held him or maybe the police closed in and detained them there before bringing them in for booking.

10. Scary
Wasn't that the occupation of another serial killer? The one in Kansas, I think.

That's why I'm glad I have a dog who hates strangers.

Article is a third of the way down...

REID DEFEATS THE "TOTAL PACKAGE"!
By Dale S. Hausner, Ringside
(NOV 20) Last night at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, Elena "Baby Doll" Reid remained in the title hunt with a six round unanimous decision over Lakeysha 'The Total Package' Williams. For six rounds, the warriors traded hard shots and had the crowd on it's feet for most of the fight. Elena used slick head movement and side to side movement to frustrate Williams. Reid weighed in at 117 and Williams was 119 pounds. The scores were 60-54 and 58-56 twice. Reid is now 12-1-2 (4) KO's and Williams is 6-4-1 (1) KO. Elena is rated # 1 in the world at Bantamweight. The promoter was Emanuel Steward and Elena Reid made an appearance to the after fight party and looked as good as before the fight. Steward was signing autographs all night at the fight and the party. He is as popular as the fighters. Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns and Milton "The Iceman" McCrory flew in to see the fight. (Dale S. Hausner has a radio show called Fist City with Dale Hausner on KFNX 1100AM. Monday nights from 11pm Mid. It is on www.nabcinc.com.)...

I was thrilled when I learned that the serial killers were caught. I live in Mesa, just a few miles from the last 2 shootings. I've been avoiding going anywhere at night, but since it's so hot during the day here, I have to walk my dogs at night.

We still have the Baseline rapist out there though, but hopefully they will be able to focus all of their attention on him now.
