New Poll Shows Lieberman Losing More Ground To Lamont

http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-senrace-poll-0803,0,5471694.story?coll=hc-headlines-local

Millionaire businessman Ned Lamont, a political novice fueled by deep pockets and voters' outrage over the Iraq war, has extended his lead over veteran Sen. Joe Lieberman less than a week before Connecticut's Democratic primary, according to a new poll released Thursday.

Lamont has support from 54 percent of likely Democrat voters in the new Quinnipiac University poll, while Lieberman has support from 41 percent of voters. A similar poll July 20 showed Lamont with a slight advantage for the first time in the campaign.

31. This one is my favorite.....
HANNITY: (Laughter) I'm thinking... I'm thinking Hannity Conservatives for Lieberman and I'll do a big fundraiser in Connecticut.

LIEBERMAN: Yeah, yeah. Let me just say, I appreciate your friendship, and I appreciate your support. Really.

...

HANNITY: Last question. If you ever want me to do anything, for you and your re-election, I think we ought to have Conservatives for Lieberman, a big fundraiser in Connecticut, and if I could ever do that, I'd make it the biggest blowout celebration ever.

LIEBERMAN: Thanks, pal. You're a great guy. It would just be fun to be with you. My wife, my daughters, my sons...

HANNITY: I don't know why they like me.

LIEBERMAN: You know, you're... well, you're a straight talker, that's one thing they like.

HANNITY: Alright, Senator.

LIEBERMAN: And you're a good to their... husband and father, so how could they not like you?

HANNITY: You're a great American, Senator.

LIEBERMAN: You too, pal.

9. Getting the vote out is paramount!
Lieberman will have to be defeated twice: in the primary and in November.

We are a long ways off from sending Lieberman off to his new job as Condi's replacement, or Rummy's.

to GOTV. If you have any time at all please give Ned some of it. If you are near New Haven, which is where I volunteer, the number is 772-2405. They can tell you where to go to volunteer elsewhere in the state.

7. Yes. Joe departs with Demo's on way too many issues
I'd be voting for Lamont. But, question. How will this effect the Democratic Party? To defeat such a prominent DLC politician. Will the DLC types ever get over this humiliation. Anything need be done to unify the party. We are going to hurt Hilary's feelings with this likely defeat.

30. Don't agree.
The DLC would take out every progressive member of the COngress if they could. The DLC is beholden to organizations like Sachs , GOldman. Their loyalities belong to that group much more so that lets say labor. Trade and international propertiary rights for the likes of Microsoft is what motivates these people.
But, in all fairness, they know they have to cope with progressives when forced to. So, I read LIebermann is helping out several anti- Iraq war Democrats in REpublican districts within COnnecticut. How do we square off with this fact?
We hurt Liebermann do we hurt the chances of these three potential Connecticut Democratic Congressman?

17. If you call raking in millions of dollars "hell".
If "Joementum" should be defeated in the primary and again as an Independent in the mid-terms, he's assured of a lucrative position in the GOP hate machine. Being an unwavering toady for bush DOES have it's rewards, and you can be assured that "Joementum" will be handsomely rewarded for his allegiance to the GOP.
I hope he'll be happy with his blood money. I'm sure he will be, there doesn't seem to be an ounce of conscience among the entire stinking GOP lot. :grr:

If this holds up:

.The Democrats will take both houses of congress.
.Hillary will not be the Democratic nominee in 08.

This suggests a very strong anti war vote.
