Israeli raids kill 828
Beirut/Jerusalem - Israeli attacks in Lebanon have left 828 people killed and 3 200 wounded over the last three weeks, Lebanon's high relief committee said on Tuesday.

"At the 21st day of the Israeli offensive on Lebanon, the health ministry has counted 828 dead," an HRC spokesperson who did not wish to be identified, told AFP.

"These are identified bodies, and the toll does not count the people still believed to be under the rubble," he said.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports from Jerusalem that Israel will resume full air strikes against Hezbollah early on Wednesday, once a 48-hour partial suspension of aerial activity has passed.

1. Keep this up five more weeks and they'll be able to look at the US and say
"We got you beat, nyah nyah nyah! Lo-sah! Lo-sah!"

2. The real goal is not X number of slaughtered civilians but REFUGEES
the number is roughly THREE QUARTERS OF A MILLION PEOPLE already. And a major land offensive by the IDF is in the offing.
750,000 Lebanese have been forced to flee their homes with whatever they can carry. A large portion of those people will never make it back to their homes. This and not civilian deaths is the object of Israeli strategy: to change the ethnic composition of South Lebanon.
The civilian deaths are an essential support to that objective of course; you can't terrorize millions without killing thousands.

5. Indeed the goal is ethnic cleansing of the border region.
This is a major crime against humanity in progress right now, right before our eyes. Israel is hell bent on displacing the entire population of the region.

8. Plus Syria will be stuck with all those Hizbollah troublemakers
...who may even want to assassinate Assad and create their Iranian-styled Islamic state and wiping out the Baathist regime now in power. Syrians have gotten themselves into quite a fix.

3. 828 COUNTED Dead
there are very many bodies under the rubble of former homes that have not been retrieved yet and won't be until the bombing stops.

4. A part of me dies with each one of them! (please read my last sentence.)

This is totally and completely unacceptable in any way. I condemn this kind of action.

The world must recognize that they are all affected by this. The pain and suffering is shared by all. Even those who are responsible for the actions.

I might add that the suffering inflicted upon those people is not confined to them. The suffering reverberates through the successive generations. When are people going to understand this! When you drop a bomb, it does not stop falling when it hits it's target.

9. No. But that is another.
I suffer from genocide. But I'm two generations removed.

But that cartoon represents another product of war. I, however, do not harbor hatred for the Turks. But I'm sure there are some who do.

A few rotten apples spoil the bushel. I wish life were less unpleasant sometimes. I guess the act of rising above the trouble is what makes inspiration.
