Dean Says Midwest Crucial for Democrats

ST. LOUIS -- Winning votes in the Midwest will be crucial to Democratic hopes to regain power in Washington in November, party Chairman Howard Dean told about 400 young people at the College Democrats National Convention on Thursday.

"We cannot be a national party unless we have the courage to ask every single American for their vote," Dean said.

He said holding the convention in Missouri dovetails with his "50-state plan" to build Democratic support in states that have voted Republican over the last six years.
...
The convention at Saint Louis University opened Thursday morning with seminars and workshops and continues through Saturday. Other scheduled speakers include House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and retired Gen. Wesley Clark.

2. Could use some help in IA-02 to get rid of "moderate" Jim Leach
Leach ain't no moderate and IA-02 is key to turning Iowa blue. So c'mon in Howard. We need some help.

7. The ISEA keeps endorsing him since they feel they have
to endorse at least one republican. He still could lose though if the facts get out.

3. 50 States! Send the GOP to 1980 South Africa where they belong!
Governor Dean has got to have a time machine.

4. GOP
is already back in the times of 1980's and before, of South Africa. Many of today's GOP had ties to and supported the old South Africa. Regime supporters in old South AFrica were forced to wake up - hopefully GWB's reign has been so bad that many of his supporters will wake up. Hopefully the whole world will wake up - and wonder why had there not been more than one Mandela.

5. He's absolutely right.
We actually lost Iowa in 2004. Wisconsin has been close for the last two elections. Missouri played a huge role in electoral politics in the last couple of Presidential elections. Too bad for us, they voted for the right wing party.
