Bob Woodruff Contributes to `Nightline'
The Associated Press
Thursday, July 6, 2006

NEW YORK -- ABC's Bob Woodruff contributed to a "Nightline" report on North Korea on Wednesday, his first journalistic work since being seriously hurt by a roadside bomb in Iraq on Jan. 29.

By telephone, Woodruff recorded a few lines to accompany the "Nightline" rebroadcast of a report he did about his visit to North Korea last summer. His voiceover tied the discussion of North Korea's closed society to its recent test firing of missiles.

Woodruff recorded the new lines while vacationing with his family in upstate New York, ABC said. He was not seen on camera.

ABC has not said when Woodruff would be able to return to full-time work at the network. He was co-anchor of "World News Tonight" for less than a month before the bombing....

2. Key to his recovery
Getting back to work is what is going to motivate him to pull through his terrible injuries.

It's wonderful news that despite his serious head injuries, that he has recovered enough to not only speak articulately, but also to provide journalistic commentary.

He's already come a long way, but he still has a long way to go.

He's a good guy -- I wish him the very best
