GOP to open new attack on media
"House Republicans plan to take to the floor tomorrow to excoriate the New York Times and other newspapers who recently reported on the government's monitoring of international financial transactions, part of the Bush Administration's approach to the war on terror..."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3626796/

Gee, I guess all the hard work they did serving as a propaganda arm for the administration in the run up to the Irag Invasion has fallen into "but what have you done for me lately" status. Poor MSM...sigh...

4. bingo! what you said.
Imagine their dismay if a blond besotted bimbo goes missing during a High School outing to a Carib isle during this attack on the NYT!

27. Other newspapers are SILENT on this matter. For shame!!!
Nobody is coming to the defense of the NYT!
With minor exceptions, the rest of the media are silent, scared shitless of the wrath of the administration. This is one of the most disgusting displays of cowardice I've ever witnessed.

3. And the media, like the shills they are, will help attack themselves.
It's theater of the absurd at this point.

5. If the GOP attacks the NYT, I hope the NYT attacks back.
It would be nice to see run day after day of front page stories on Republican corruption, influence peddling, the crappy economy, etc, right up til the election.

10. I saw a thread with WaPo article on pg. A07 ...
titled something like, A single person can swing election. (discussing the ease of hacking e machines.)

Someone in the post, sorry, can't remember who at the moment, stated the papers may be getting mad and showing the admin. what happens when you start attacking them very seriously.

I hope they are right. I'd love to see the papers realize they will be next unless they abide by the admins. rules on what THEY can print. I hope they come out SWINGING on everything they can get their hands on. Why should "living in interesting times, always just mean something negative?"...
I'd like to see this UNFOLD APPROPRIATELY for the American people.

Wake up journalists, editors, you are being threatened and are the last of the checks and balances of this administration that the citizens have left.

p.s. each of you are a citizen, too. Don't forget that.

and they still love their Chimperor. They can't have enough of their Chimperor, they love the nicknames he gives them, and the bullshit he feeds them. The media act like battered wives, as bad as it sounds.

So no, I don't think they'll remember this. They'll keep acting like the cowards they are and fear Rove's wrath.

11. Repukes = ANTI-REALITY PARTY
Dems need a quick moniker for the Repukes that sums up their "head in the sand" and "attack the messenger" approach to life. I propose that we begin to consistently label Repukes and their party as "Anti-reality." Use it anytime you can in conversation.

17. Let 'Em Have It
C'mon, NY Times and Bill Keller: Publish all that you have been sitting on concerning the Decider's military "service". We know you have it, and there could not be a better time to present us with some facts that help to explain our great war president's true character.
While you're at it, anything else that you've been sitting on? Now would be a good time.....

watch this fall. this is the last thing the thugs want to do before an election... and to get together to make a partisan attack on media over so-called national security? sorry, doesn't wash. if it was a legitimate cause, the Democratic party would be all over it as well. they're playing with gasoline.

22. What the heck could they be worried about?
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 08:29 PM by Independent_Liberal
Could they be worried about numero uno from my "Magic 21" getting ready to bust wide open?

PART I: ROCK THE HOUSE OF ENRON :bounce:

The Department of Justice, the FBI and Federal Prosecutors get some cooperation in the Abramoff case and the "Duke" Cunningham bribery case. Jack gives up all the information he has on everything including defrauded Indian tribes, gaming casinos, lobbying firms, illegal campaign contributions sent to GOP Congress people, foreign influence peddling, illegal arms trafficking, the American Turkish Council, the SunCruz investigation, Guam, Adam Kidan, Michael Scanlon, Grover Norquist, David Safavian, John Colyandro, Jim Ellis, Ernie Fletcher, Bob Taft, Tom Noe and Coingate, Ken Blackwell, Leandro Aragoncillo, the Gus Boulis murder case, Tom DeLay's misuse of the FAA and the DHS, his trips to Russia and the people who turned up dead in his district, DeLay’s ARMPAC, Bob Ney's golf outings in Scotland and his ties to Iran, New Hampshire phone jamming, stolen computers from the Ohio Democratic Headquarters, Ken Lay, Jeff Skilling, Enron espionage, CIA narco-trafficking, GOP prostitution rings and pedophiles, Wally O'Dell and Diebold, HAVA, Ralph Reed, etc. Randy gives up all info on Porter Goss, Kyle Foggo, Brent Wilkes, Mitchell Wade, defense contractors and hooker and poker parties at the Watergate hotel. They blow the whistle on several Republican leaders in the House, Senate and Executive Branch. All this doo doo hits the fan and Dennis Hastert, Bob Ney, John Doolittle, Dana Rohrabacher, Richard Pombo, Katherine Harris, Tom Feeney, Conrad Burns, John Cornyn, etc. are all indicted. And Bill Frist is indicted for his SEC violations.

:nuke:

Next...

PART II: IS THAT A MISSING HARDDRIVE IN YOUR PANTS OR ARE YOU HAPPY TO SEE ME? :argh:

For the full scenario, please PM me.

:)
