Iran's Ahmadinejad planning to visit Iraq: report

LONDON, June 27 (IranMania) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is planning to visit neighbouring Iraq "soon", the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Quoting an informed source, the report said Ahmadinejad was hoping to meet with "high-ranking officials and visit religious sites", a reference to Shiite Muslim sites spread across the violence-wracked country, AFP stated.

Ahmadinejad's office could not be reached for comment.

The visit would be the first by an Iranian president since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

1. I am sure that all the troops who have died for BushCo
will be thrilled that we got rid of Saddam and have made Iraq safe enough for the Iranian leaders to visit again.

:sarcasm:
