06/15/06 FOX News Poll: Victories in Iraq, Bush Approval Up
President George W. Bush’s job approval rating is out of the thirties for the first time since February and currently stands at 40 percent.

President Bush’s approval rating is up 5 percentage points to 40 percent this month, up from 35 percent approval in mid-May. Just over half of Americans disapprove (52 percent).

Views are mixed on the larger issue of U.S. military action in Iraq, as 43 percent of Americans say the action will ultimately make the United States safer, but half says no, it will not. These results are similar to those from two years ago when 39 percent said action in Iraq would make the U.S. safer and 46 percent disagreed (June 2004).

On the home front, a slim 52 percent majority thinks the United States is safer without Zarqawi. Most Republicans (77 percent) think the country is safer, while most Democrats disagree (62 percent). Among independents: 47 percent say safer, 48 percent not safer.

2. One of the things that most bothers
me about some Americans is that they are so fickle and seemingly change their opinions based on the latest photo op....and not on facts.

10. Safe bet - consider the source
The wording on Faux News' push polls is so grotesquely leading, no one could ever possibly mistake them for anything other than a propaganda effort. Their objective worth is thus zero.

5. "A new FOX News poll finds..."
Funny, it's not what other polls by legitimate polling organizations are finding.

6. Victories in Iraq?
What victories? That Bush shows up, unannounced, to stand next to Al-Maliki and smile his clown smile? People were getting killed THAT DAY as Bush flew in.

The only victory in Iraq is when we leave.

7. Actually a fairly puny "bump" given that it is Fox and the hype.
Once the dust settles and the war in Iraq grinds on as well as the war in Afghanistan continues to heat up the numbers will go right back down again. This all reminds me so much of late 1967 when the war in Vietnam was supposedly beginning to go well for the U.S. Then came 1968 and the Tet Offensive and the whole thing, including what was left of Johnson's credibility, went to hell in a handbasket.

11. Help me L-rd
Has anyone noticed just how the cable news is reporting or should I say the non news out of Iraq and the positive spin ever since Zarqawi's death and bush's magical mystery tour to Iraq? I heard some congressman say this morning that there were about 20 people in the news media which could make Iraq as bad as they wanted by giving the negative news out of Iraq to sway public opinion. I thought, well if those same 20 could do that, then those same 20 could influence the american public into believing that Iraq was on the road to victory...Just like they influenced americans into believing that saddam was responsible for 9 11 and all the other polls early on about the conlict in Iraq....

13. hey, when I see somebody get on the tube and say I'm going
to iraq tomorrow, and I'm going to walk down the street with no helmet, and no flak jacket and without any bodyguards, then I will believe that iraq has turned the corner. but as far as I can see it's been 3 freakin years of surprise visits and lets get the fuck out of here exits

where are the schools that are being built, the power lines, the roads.... shit show me some of that. hell fox news is so hot on bush's ass and always want to spew that good news shit. why don't they send oreillys ass to iraq and let him walk around showing all of the new shit that's being built.

12. New Poll, 100% surveyed say Fox News is stupid and irrelevant
"Faux News is irrelevant and stupid" according to a survey by Joefree1.

Joefree1 surveyed one person, himself. Margin of error is nonexistent.

18. It'll go back down when the violence gets worse and people
start to wonder how, if Zarqawi was behind all these attacks, it continues. And then his approval'll sink lower.
