2 coalition soldiers killed in Afghanistan

MUSA QALA, Afghanistan -- Two coalition soldiers were killed in separate combat operations
in Afghanistan, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

An American soldier was killed when a military patrol came under attack Tuesday afternoon
in the Musa Qala district of southern Helmand province, said Lt. Col. Chris Toner. Assailants
fired on the troops with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms, he said, forcing them
to take cover overnight.

The second coalition soldier was killed while fighting enemy forces in eastern Kunar province
Tuesday, the U.S. military said in a statement.
