Senate Passes Measure to Protect Military Funerals From Protesters
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Demonstrators would be barred from disrupting military funerals at national cemeteries under legislation approved by the Senate Wednesday. The measure, which passed the House in nearly identical form two weeks ago, specifically targets a Kansas church group that has staged protests at military funerals around the country, claiming that the deaths were a sign of God's anger at U.S. tolerance of homosexuals.

1. Key words - 'at national cemeteries'. This is bs.
I have very strong thoughts about these Phelps people.

Most of those thoughts involve bodies other than the dead serviceman(woman).

2. I favor the Patriot Guard Riders approach, not this bill.
Chipping away at the First Amendment isn't my idea of how to handle anything.

3. If they're going to protect some
they should protect all.
If they aren't going to protect all, they should protect none.

4. Idiots.
This is what Phelps wants. His entire family are lawyers, and when laws are passed like this it allows them to sue the hell out of cities and states for First Amendment violations.

6. I wonder if they'll call the ACLU?
And I wonder if the ACLU even would take this on.

7. They've already challenged the law in Kentucky

I suspect they will do the same in this case, even if it means working with Phelps.

8. Seems so. We are the acceptable "jews" at this point in history it seems.
I am so mad I could just spit.

Now everything is hunky dorey, since only those perverted gays will be hounded. And who care about us anyway.

Creeping nazism is steadily moving forward, inches at a time, but creeping forward noththeless.
