4 U.S. soldiers, Iraqi interpreter killed by roadside bomb
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Four Multi-National Division - Baghdad soldiers and an Iraqi interpreter died on Thursday "when a roadside bomb struck their vehicle northwest of Baghdad," the military said. The names of the soldiers were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The bombing came amid reports Thursday of violence that resulted in the deaths of 26 people, including a U.S. sailor, Iraqi police, civilians and insurgents.

The reports included:

A U.S. sailor was killed in Iraq's Anbar province Wednesday "due to enemy action," a military statement said. The sailor was deployed with the Marines' Regimental Combat Team 5. Since the start of the war, there have been 2,443 U.S. military fatalities in Iraq. Seven American civilian contractors of the military also have died in the conflict.

On a road between Ramadi and Falluja, west of Baghdad, gunmen kidnapped 15 Iraqi Olympic Tae Kwon Do players who were riding a bus back from Jordan where they had been on vacation, an official with the Iraqi Olympic Committee said. A mortar round struck an open market in Baghdad's Dora neighborhood, killing four guards and wounding another, Baghdad police said.

worst of it is, where will we see this in the MSM? As an afterthought at most, a toss away. A continuing string of deaths for a pack of lies and as a nation, we are afraid to say anything.............. it's pathetic.

9. Once they realize the truth they will HAVE NO PEACE
Joining up to kill Islamics and get a college degree, is not only asinine it is dangerous.

Convince anyone stoopid enough to consider that course of behavior

It may not only involve them in a war crime

It may result in their death by being shredded into little pieces by the native Islamics

Most of whom hate amerika

They will realize it is an Oily war for corporate profits with the lower middle class and poor doing the dying

8. Of course there is somebody who could stop it right now .
The President of the United States could stop it right now. But he started the war for illegal reasons and his super-rich friends are making billions. The President of the United States is a criminal who doesn't care about our dead and maimed soldiers.

I will not see justice until Bush and the rest of the robber baron war profiteers are punished for war crimes.

RIP to the soldiers. They died in an illegal war. It was not their fault.

More needless death. The President doesn't care.

18. Yes they did
They are the Resistance.

Fighting on their own soil to eject the crusader and occupier of their country.

As in other times and places The drive to Defend Mother ( insert name of country here Russia etc.) is stronger than death.

I'm afraid thousands more rustics who are signing up for adventure, will soon learn what a long "dirt nap" is all about.

15. I was despondent over the Serbian invasion in Croatia and Bosnia
living on pins and needles as one atrocity after another reduced me to tears. I am not of Serbian or Croatian heritage. I only know "da," "nyet" and "pivo" in my basic Slavic vocabulary. Imagine how I feel about the "four dead in Iraq" or "twelve killed in helicopter accident" every single day now for four years. It's time to get sane. I lament the Iraqi civil war, but I am sick at the US prime of their youth being IED bait. I had an uncle killed in France by the Nazis in 1944 and another by the Chinese near the Yalu River in Korea in 1953. They were actually heroes engaged in battle against horrid enemies out to conquer huge swaths of Asia and Europe. I don't see this Iraq fiasco as analagous to those wars. This is Vietnam Redux. I wish my grandmother, a Double Gold Star Mother were still alive to tell her story.

16. can you imagine these guy's days consists of riding around in
humvees hoping not run over or near ieds. Some mission. No one wonder some guys are doing massacres. The sad thing is they our guys are taking it out on iraqi civilians when the fucks that sent them on what is essentially a lottery/suicide mission are the ones that deserve the wrath. The only silver lining is that some of these guys are getting politicized and will work to see that chickenhawks never can pull this bullshit again.

17. The MSM rarely reports this anymore - that's a sad thing, too.
I'll bet more than half this country doesn't know what the toll in Iraq is on any given day.
