Prime Minister John Howard arrived in Washington at the weekend but he is only just now catching up with his good friend and ally, US President George W Bush.
The two leaders are about to plant some trees together at the Australian Ambassador's house.
......
Mr Howard's staunch support for the US-led invasion of Iraq has given him a high international profile.
And that helped an American anti-war protester recognise the Prime Minister, who began heckling him as Mr Howard stood on the footpath near the White House.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200605/s1638139.htmtoo funny. The shrub and the bonzai planting a tree which probably has a higher IQ than *.
On the protester - this got quite a lot of coverage in Australia. Howard was having an outside press conference and this fellow shouted at Howard for some time before being led off by security. He was shouting about the war, Bush's lies and Howard compliance with the Bush doctrine.
on edit
the article also goes on to say that Bush is now running at 29%. First time I've seen it in the 20's. Woo hoo.
The most salient point was when the protester was being led away he looked into a TV camera and said
"this is what happens in the US when you speak the truth".
