Blackwell retains double-digit poll lead over Petro in GOP race for governor

It looks like a wire-to-wire win for J. Kenneth Blackwell in Ohio’s GOP primary for governor.

The secretary of state holds a 12-point lead over Attorney General Jim Petro in the final Dispatch Poll before Tuesday’s election.

Blackwell’s campaign as an outspoken candidate for change — despite the fact his party has held the governor’s office for nearly 16 years — is apparently resonating among Ohio Republicans, more than three quarters of whom now say the state is heading "off on the wrong track."

Skeptics questioned whether Blackwell’s staunch, Bible-quoting conservatism could win him a majority even in a GOP primary. But the poll shows 45 percent of Republicans consider themselves a born-again or evangelical Christian, and Blackwell prevails by 24 points among those voters. He leads by just 2 points among GOP nonevangelicals.

4. If Blackwell wins, Ohio voters should lose their right to vote along
with the minds they have already lost. What does religion, same sex marriage and abortion have to do with making sure every vote is counted and restoring honesty to our government?

5. Double digit lead for a 9-digit leaker?

You'd think Ohio voters would be a little more upset that their Social Security Numbers are probably now in the hands of the mob due to this boob.

6. I've seen no Petro Ads VS over a dozen Blackwel adds
Blackwell is constantly trashing Jim Petro too, calling him a republican by convience and that he's not a real republican and doesn't hold up traditional republican values.

It's so familair of an attack. I don't doubt that Blackwell will win because he's in charge of counting the votes either way. He'll have some surprise win if it's really a challenge in November.
