FOX News' Tony Snow Among Possible White House Spokesman Candidates

WASHINGTON — With a few personnel shifts going on in the White House, there's speculation that presidential spokesman Scott McClellan may be looking to step down.

One of the people the White House has approached as a possible replacement for McClellan is FOX News Radio host Tony Snow. The White House discussed the possibility with Snow as recently as this week.

Snow, who hosts "The Tony Snow Show," once served as a speechwriter for President George H.W. Bush.

Other people have also been approached about the position, including former Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clark and Dan Senor, the former Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman in Iraq, who served the U.S. civil administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer.

7. exactly, why take this job?
the press secretary for a lame duck president with approximately 20% approval ratings? that's a dead ender for someone at Snow's level, much better for an up and comer to take. Isn't there anyone on the GOP bench who hasn't been indicted yet?

6. Isn't he a freeper? I remember reading FR a few weeks ago re the
Immigrant problem, and on one thread Levin (Mark?) a Fox anchor was fighting with a freeper over something he said on Fox. Someone else mentioned Tony Snow, I believe, as another freeper.

Levin said in that thread that he was a freeper before he was a talkshow host.

Hannity was a freeper also, but apparently stopped posting there, and then there was the infamous Jeff Gannon, also a freeper.

8. You remind me: Jeff Gannon needs a job
Bush could get his bald-headed fetish object back, Gannon could give up walking the streets, and we could get back to ridiculing Jimmy Jeff on a daily basis.

It's a win-win for everyone!

34. Wow, thanks ~ and he's been a freeper since 1998! The same length
of time as Levin, the other Fox 'news' guy. This is spooky. It's like that board was a part of a set-up, they were building their propaganda machine from back then. I'm thinking that FR is not running on donations.

At least one freep realizes Tony may not be able to communicate on FR as often under his own name.

......

To: Tony Snow
If you take this job, and I hope you do, you may have to curtail or quit posting here. I hope not, but we'd still be proud to know you're lurking or posting under a different name. BTW, I'm sure there are many folks from this admin lurking and probably posting here. Good luck Tony.

......

The Bush WH is made up of freeper types and for Fox to be pretending to be anything but an arm of this administration, is laughable.

Drudge, Fox, FR ~ this is how they got the CBS Dan Rather story out so quickly ~ it was all planned in advance. Dan Rather should do some of his great investigative work on this propaganda machine ~ and expose the whole, phoney mess!

19. Not sure a Faux spokesman would be
able to handle anyone questioning him directly. The Faux guys are used to their pro wrestling fixed format. Having men and women so much smarter than them asking pointed questions on issues they barely comprehend is going to be "hard work" after their regular day jobs of shilling for the Bushies with puff pieces and manufactured righteous indignation for all those who dare disagree with their scripted talking points.

35. A Classic Dead-End Job

Well, actually most jobs are dead-end!

Now back to todays topic, and I don't think that anybody who 99% of us has ever heard of will be this administration's next bald faced liar behind the WH's "hot" podium.

Considering that this whole corrupt administration is balancing on the head of a moron makes anyone accepting the gig desperate for notoriety and very possibly, enduring infamy.

It does require some intelligence and cunning to keep so many fantasies straight while occasionally being informative. Poor Scotty looked like a frightened child lately, he definitely had to go from the WH perspective, I'm sure. Replacing Scotty Mac with someone with any integrity is absolutely impossible now, they are going to have to find a smily faced up-and-comer from a small to small/medium market who is willing to "play ball". Who else????
